He's a professional storyteller and there are some skills he's really good at. He was very professional the whole time, not natural. If you know those skills you will immediately notice and will not get charmed but if you don't know, you might be in awe. Just for an example, he does full energy intro story lines so as to drown Jimmy, who was trying to cut him the first second. He succeeds, based on how the camera remains fixated on him which usually does not happen as they would like to get the show host in the camera but not in this case. You can rewind and see for how many seconds he gets the camera time and Jimmy remains off the camera.

"Bosom Buddies" was so great in it's day. The entire cast was so good, as were the basic scripts and premise. Being 14 and never even having heard of 'Some Like it Hot', it seemed like a really cutting edge and topical premise at the time. It was one of the few shows my friends and I would go out of our way to watch, and watching Hanks become a 'superstar' in the coming years was always a pleasant call back to those days. Goodbye Peter!

I was a writer on the show for it's entire run (Except the pilot). I will always remember it with great fondness.

@@altonwright8871 Thank you for writing for them! I was 13/14 when the show was on. Peter was my biggest TV crush! I liked Tom Hanks, but LOVED Peter Scolari! My focus was on Peter in every scene. Made me cry seeing Tom talk about his good friend at the end of the interview. I just went through cancer and hearing that Peter passed from it, broke my heart! RIP - Peter Scolari! I hope people revisit his work and understand just how talented he was. When you think about it, going toe-to-toe with Tom Hanks’ talent shows what a genius Peter was. Thank you, Alton, for working on the show!

I was about 14 as well but I had already seen some like it hot for some reason. I remember thinking this is nothing like that really both brilliant in their own right but this was so good I just wanted to keep on going

He's amazing. I don't have to see him pair up with someone in a film because he fills up the space perfectly by himself 😀

Just watch Castaway. 95% of the movie is just him on screen by himself. ( With the exception of " Wilson " the volleyball.
