I like to think that one of the reasons why Mr. Rogers spoke slowly was to allow his words to sink in. And also to allow none native English speakers to understand him easier. When I attended Uni a few years back, I was recommended by 2 professors to be a tutor for their classes. What I realized from that experience is that foreign students who came from none English speaking countries who may have learned it at school but didn't speak it on a daily basis had difficulties following lectures or conversations when the speaker talked too fast. And not only that, it seems that slowing your speech a tad also makes it easier for your words to sink in for both native and non-native English speakers. I used to have to go over a topic 3-4 times before my fellow students understood it, but when I spoke a bit more slowly, they were able to absorb my explanation more easily.

You know I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it but a beautiful day in the neighborhood literally from me to tears three times. And I already knew things about Fred Rogers that the movie didn't even cover

Great work done by Tom Hanks. Another successful in his brighter carrer.

I’m glad the role of playing the great Mr Rodgers was placed in Tom Hanks hands. Only he could have handled this with his genius craft, class, and compassion for giving this generation important things.

They needed an actor who could capture the general spirit and persona of Fred Rogers and had star power, Tom Hanks had both.

Hanks NAILED the part too, with his voice and vocal cadence it was almost like seeing Fred again. Movies' a tearjerker, too, I don't usually cry during movies but I've seen it twice and I bawled both times.

Growing up in India, we didn't really have Mr. Rogers on TV, but learning of his legacy through the works of Jim Carrey (in Kidding) and Tom Hanks (in this new movie) in today's context makes me feel that we need him more now than ever before.

I stayed with friends in Pittsburgh in 2000, and more then once they mentioned that Pittsburgh was where Mr. Rogers was from. Mr. Rogers and a trolley that went up the side of a hill is what I remember most about that city.

This is a man who takes his trade of acting serious and that IS WHY he is one of the top ten actors of ALL-TIME. Right up there with Spencer Tracy, Marlon Brando and Clark Gable. There are a few others I could mention but you get the jest.
