You definitely have a ball joint press that will get the job done. The van should drive nice after this work.
@JimmyMakingitwork6 ай бұрын
Thanks Lloyd, the BJP1 is a great press, although a bit pricey.

This video shows how much work it is to replace the front end components. You've probably done this job on your back, in a driveway, with the car propped up on wood blocks. I believe you; you're not afraid of hard work. That was a nice fake out when you pretended to throw away the used cotter pin.

Torqued at 220 KZbin foot-pounds. Making suspension work look easy! Awesome work Jimmy! I would be too scared to bang that hard on the van with it on the lift. I would make a very bad mechanic, ha ha.
@JimmyMakingitwork3 ай бұрын
Haha, it is really heavy so won’t go anywhere if it’s at the right lift points. :)
@COBRO986 ай бұрын
Jimmy the way you had just that lift arm's pin edge on the perch @ 10:47.. I would take the time to place the adapter pins so that the frame rail is straddling them, even if I had to stack adapters.. if that makes sense You know how heavy those vans are especially when they keep equipment in the back, I always check that so that I can pull them slightly forward to maintain balance point(I also put a pole stand under the rear on large trucks and vans so that they can't start tipping/rocking) You've been doing this a really long time, you & I both know complacency is what gets people hurt in shops, be careful brother

Good morning Jimmy! I am confused why a cable would break on a lift? I never have heard of that before? Maybe it was from doing things like using pole jacks to do things? lol I had to comment! Couldn’t happened to a better mechanic! lol good stuff. Glad that Evaporator job was you! I hate dash work!
@JimmyMakingitwork6 ай бұрын
lol, balancing cables last a long time. About 10 years. So most shops run them 20, haha.
