Denny was/is super talented as a musician and singer and should have achieved more fame than he did. In Wings, he was unfortunately overshadowed by Paul and before that, he left the Moody Blues before they really hit it big. I met him in the 90s at a Beatlefest and it was awesome!

Denny was an OK singer. Good for back ups.. And occasionally a few leads. I recently watched a youtube video of him and a band preform songs from _"Band on the run"_ sorry to say, he cant sing that good anymore. He was singing all over the place, couldn't hit notes,.. Sad they recorded that, But he was once really good!

I was at this Paul McCartney and Wings concert in San Francisco. I drove my little sister and her girlfriend from high school to see the same concert just days before in Seattle as we drove from our home in Portland Oregon, in my small sports car. And then days later I drove my brother and I again to watch it in San Francisco. I photographed both concerts with my college days 35mm camera and telephoto lens, exposing several rolls of high-speed color transparency film, in both the Seattle Kingdom with the largest indoor audience attendance in world history that night, of 70,000 fans. Then in the San Francisco Cow Palace, about a 16,000 attendance, I believe. I've uploaded the better photos into my Facebook Concert album. It's only one of over 235 albums I have in Facebook on various events in my life, my professional astronomy art, and photography, and teaching and lecturing as a university astronomy professor by midlife.

on holidays in the Caribbean somewhere, he met Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen and talk turned to music. Hoffman asked him could he write a song about anything, Macca replied probably. Hoffman suggested a news item current in the paper that week (the death of Pablo Picasso and his last wish and that people would drink a toast to him), this song was the result that he played to them the next day.

Simon & Garfunkel's "Richard Cory" was an unusual addition to Wings' repertoire, but it worked very well as a continuation of "Picasso's Last Words," arguably Macca's best song "snatch" since "Can You Take Me Back" from the White Album. The emphasis on acoustic guitars here may have also inspired Denny's wonderful acoustic contributions to the "London Town" album two years later, "Children Children" and "Deliver Your Children." Also, both "Picasso" and "Cory" dealt with the troubling subject of death (though Picasso died of natural causes, and Richard Cory took his own life), which, of course, Denny and Linda were to face themselves. Thank you, Denny and Linda, for your great music. Rest in peace.
