I had the great fortune to visit my great-grandfather 's WW1 resting place in France on the same day as a former Guards piper was practicing for a wedding. On learning the reason for my visit, he gladly played this very tune as we stood at the grave Not ashamed to admit that I was in tears as he played. Thank you Piper Alexander for helping me honour my fallen family member
