They get old just like everything else…but I noticed mine getting significantly worse after I got my alignment done, my car was tight with the new bushings but loose and swervey with my weak struts. But with my car, it was 4 months in and since I know that no one replaced my timing belt, I doubt the previous owner placed the shocks plus it’s a 7 yr old car 🤷🏾♀️

Another way to avoid risk of injury is to purchase replacement strut-spring assemblies. The new struts and springs are pre-assembled and the do-it-yourself job goes much quicker. For OEM, the parts cost is about 2X the cost of the struts alone. While the cost is higher for the parts, you get new springs and the time it takes to complete the job is much shorter.

Advance Auto rents A Tool you can used to compress the spring to switch out the struts. I believe it's like a hundred bucks to rent but they give you your $100 back when you return the tool. Hope that helps somebody and saves them even more money if they can't find or afford the Quick struts as they do cost more. Just be very careful and cautious when switching over the spring.

Those squeaks over bumps could be coming from your lower control arms or rubber bushings for the steering stabilizer bar get some spray lube jack it up remove the wheel and squirt them right where the steering stabilizer bar enters the bushings also it could be come from your strut mount’s slightly under the wheel well and under the hood but check those bushings and stabilizer links first
