It is Coldplay. Chris wrote this for Jin has his farewell to his fans (army) prior to enlisting. You should also check out the live performance he did in Brazil at one of Coldplay’s concert. Jin actually flew to Brazil just to do one song at the concert and it was days before he enlisted. Super emotional and very very good.

Not only does Chris Martin sing backup (!) on this, but his son Moses Martin does as well. I was so happy when you picked up on Chris' singing. BTS and Coldplay have a special friendship, and Chris and Jin in particular have a great bond. I hope they do more songs together when Jin finishes military service next June.

Good pickup with Coldplay. The musical aspect of the track was essentially Coldplay at Jin's request to help him with writing a song for saying goodbye to ARMY before his 18-month enlistment in the military. Coldplay had done a Billboard number 1 collaboration with BTS called My Universe. Chris Martin came to Korea and developed a special bond with Jin during the visit. Jin would go onto to perform The Astronaut live with Cold Play in Argentina as his final performance until completing his service. There is a little easter egg in the video most people do not catch. Chris is in the mv. The girl represents ARMY so Jin's affection at the sound of the bell is symbolizes how deeply he loves ARMY.

He didn't release an album yet. He didn't have time as he was the first BTS member to enlist in the military last December. He will be the first out in June of 2024.

The reporter on the tv in the video was Chris Martin from Coldplay. Him and Jin co-wrote the song. Jin has a very powerful voice just Awesome. There’s a video of Jin at Coldplays concert singing this. Jin called Chris and asked him to write a song to the army to tell them how he felt about them before he went into the military. JIN, OH JIN! Every time I hear the beginning of this song, my eyes well up with tears and my HEART BURST WITH PRIDE! This gorgeous, funny, kind, loving, hilarious creature LOVES ARMY SOOO MUCH and ARMY LOVES HIM SO MUCH! He debuted this song the month that he left for his 18 month military duty. Oh, Nathan, there is sooo MUCH MORE than you’ll ever IMAGINE about BTS/individually! These guys were CREATED BY GOD & GIFTED BY GOD in a way that I’ve NEVER SEEN BEFORE! Few quick things about this video.. This song was done specifically for Army's before he went in the service. Chris Martin has a cameo - he's the news announcer on the TV. There are also nods to him in the room (the autographed guitar he gave Jin) as well as nods to BTS. Jin has a temp. braille tattoo on his neck that says Army. The little girl represents army. The bell at the end is a reference to the fact that BTS originally was going to call their fandom The Bells. This is just an overview. Plenty of sites out there that have more in-depth info if you're interested.

I love how you come in cold 🙂 to watch these videos. I’m glad everyone gave you the background. I still get teary eyed watching this video and how it was right before he went to start his military service, the first BTS member to do so. I’m sure someone mentioned the girl representing ARMY and how he put the helmet on her to protect her (us) and then letting her go as she riding the bike (as he did so leaving us). NOT teary eyed writing this. Definitely watch the live from Argentina. Jin and all of Coldplay (especially Chris) have a special, sweet relationship. 💜

I'm happy you found your word cozy in the crossword puzzle! You definitely understood the vibe they were going for. Jin hasn't created a whole album yet as he was the first to go off the the military (he's the oldest). He left us with this song to hold onto till he comes back and gives us a full album. He does have a lot of solo songs tho (as they all do). He truly makes you feel things deeply when he sings. A balladeer at his core with a phenomenal range. Few things give me more joy than hearing Jin's all out belt. He truly is a special artist. 💜

Jin is so loved by coldplay especially chris. Jin is so lovable, cute, talented, hardworking & has a great sense of humor its hard not to fall for him. Jin's parents raised him so well. Coldplay is Jin’s favorite band. I believe he’s the one who also encouraged the group to do a collab with Coldplay, and My Universe is born. I seem to remember you mentioning that you would watch BTS’s cover of FIX YOU. Have you watched it already? It’s so good and Jin really shines in that song also. I’m really hoping Jin will give us more of a rock vibe album when he release one. He’s got the vocal power to do it. It likely won’t be available until 2025.

Jin's favorite band is Coldplay and he has said it in many interviews. When BTS collaborated with them Chris Martin gave Jin a guitar. Watch the performance in Argentina when Chris calls BTS brothers from another mother. It so sweet. Jin acts young and silly but really he is very mature, super polite, looks out for his younger brothers and loves ARMY sincerely--so much that for his birthday he gifted ARMY the song SuperTuna.

This is such a warm song and mv. An alien crash landing on Earth and in the end found his family here and made it his new home instead of leaving with his ship. BTS and Coldplay are very close friends. The friendship started when they collabed on the Grammy-nominated, #1 Billboard song "My Universe". There's a heartwarming documentary of their recording of the song. Chris and his son were the background vocals for "The Astronaut" and the rest of the band also provided the instrumentation.

This was a single release by jin as a goodbye to army and the MV is filled with Easter eggs inc. Chris Martin on the tv… The song was a collab with cold play. Jin enlisted shortly after the release but before he left he flew 40 hours each way to Buenos Aires to perform it live with cold play. There is a beautiful video from that performance where jin is introduced by Chris … it is a very heartwarming stage and you can feel the true affection they have for each other.. and jin bursts out laughing when Chris makes a mistake… pls watch the whole thing Jin is really the pop rock ballad singer of the group with a great belt and moving falsetto voice… His tracks awake and epiphany are great live and other solo work inc. abyss, tonight and yours are well worth the listen…

Jin has a solo with BTS called “Moon” (ranked one of the best songs ever by a boyband, I think by Rolling Stone. In that song, the lyrics are to ARMY and Jin explained that ARMY is his earth and he is our moon.” The song is based on the story of “The Little Prince,” and he has only performed it live once - for the Map of the Soul ON:E online concert they did during COVID. BTS often refers to ARMY as their universe, and this song’s references to the Universe as well as the crossword puzzle reference to the moon all follow that theme.

71 year old Army here. This was a song by Coldplay that was gifted to Jin after he called Chris Martin and needed a song to say goodbye to Army before he enlisted in the military. They re-wrote the lyrics together. The little girl represents Army. He was taken in by an earth family after his spaceship crashed. Chris's son Moses is also doing background vocals with him. Jin only did the one song but called it an album. There really wasn't time for him to work on a whole album. Please react to the live performance with Coldplay in Argentina. i LOVE how you picked up on Chris Martin/Coldplay without knowing it beforehand! Jin released this song as a single, not an album, because he had to quickly enlist to serve his mandatory military enlistment. He released this song as a "goodbye for now" to the fandom, and flew all the way to Argentina to meet up with Coldplay while they were on tour for Jin to perform it one night before he enlisted. Jin is currently around half-way through his service and will return in June next year! (and then maybe work on a whole solo album to release!)

So, the story goes that Jin once tweeted how much he'd love it if BTS did a collaboration with Coldplay. It got back to them and at first they were not open to the idea but soon that all faded away and a project came along during the pandemic they felt would be perfect for the collaboration. That song was My Universe, they filmed the behind the scenes and it was so interesting how the two band came together and really formed a lovely bond. Jin especially connected with Coldplay. Chris Martin even gave him a guitar which is displayed in that room. Anyways, Chris tells the rest of the story in the opener to the live performance everyone is asking you to check out. Yes. That was Chris! I agree, if you know Coldplay you pick up on it quickly. Jin also got writing credit. The song was dedicated specifically to ARMY from Jin, so I think Chris did not mind staying in the background this time. Chris seems to genuinely care for the guys, especially Jin. Chris is often seen at his concerts wearing a Jin Astronaut pin on his jacket.

i love jin's voice.. he can do some crazy belts in bts' more intense songs (the end of dionysus, for example) and make you cry with his heartbreakingly soft vocals (like in yours for the jirisan series). the astronaut definitely makes me choke up the minute i try singing along. jin has always been such a steady eldest member, supporting and pushing his team further, making sure we army know how important it is to always value yourself and find things that make you happy, and acting a little wild (even embarrassing himself) just to give us laughs. truly a beautiful soul.

Coldplay did this song on Saturday Night Live SNL. Chris did his on lyric’s instead of using the Lyrics Jin wrote. You need to really watch the live version Jin did at the Coldplay concert in Argentina. I saw a lead singer in a band watch that video of the live performance and he almost cried it was so heartwarming. He said you rarely see that level of love and respect between two artists. Chris Martin is such a beautiful being. The reactor that is in a band City of Sound did a cover of this song and it’s so good.

And of course Jin was an alien astronaut. The family took him in. You can see pictures drawn on paper of him and the little girl small. And of course he grew taller out of his pants (why the legs were short). When the spaceship was fixed, he chose to stay behind with what he knew as family. At least that’s what I interpreted 😊

As some already mentioned this song is a collaboration of Jin with Coldplay, he asked Chris for help to make a farewell song for ARMY because he was going to the military service. The collaboration was in lyrics, music, production... the recording was also made by the Coldplay team (music, vocals and the backing vocals that are Chris and his son), so you are very good at recognizing Coldplay. The premiere of the song was scheduled for the day when Coldplay would do a concert from Argentina with liveplay in cinemas in various parts of the world. Jin was invited and traveled about 40 hours to get to Argentina and they gave a very beautiful and emotional presentation together. There is a documentary about when Chris traveled to Korea (during the pandemic period) to make the recording of My Universe, with that you will begin to realize what that song and their collaboration entails in itself. It even ended up being a great friendship between the bands because not only does their great love for music unite them, but there are many aspects in which they coincide, such as both bands promoting or seeking to create awareness of the importance of self-love, the humility they have, etc.

I was so excited to see you react to this video! I really love The Astronaut ~ it’s just so well done. You are right ~ it’s Chris Martin & Coldplay. Jin released this tune just before he enlisted in the military. Jin’s vocals are really divine. I don’t believe he was a singer prior to joining BTS, and he has worked really hard to get where he is. I know others have probably given you recommendations for other Jin songs ~ be sure to listen to Moon, Abyss, Yours, Epiphany, and Jin’s duet with V called It’s Definitely You. All are awesome! You are completely right that it’s a Coldplay colab. Jin debuted the song in a Coldplay concert in Argentina. It was such a magical moment. And right afterwards he stated his mandatory military service which is not yet completed. He doesn’t have a full solo album but he has released plenty of tracks throughout the years.

I saw something that Jin asked for his help and Chris told him to write the part of lyrics in Korean *BUT I'M NOT SURE AT ALL*. But they are friends and the live performance of this song in Argentina with the heartfelt introductory speech that Cris made... Great. I understand that in the days before the trip from Korea to Argentina, Jin had a sore throat , even the last Busan concert too *(Army, I'm not sure, can you kindly correct me hehehe)* Both the images and the lyrics are related to the Army and its farewell to military service.I love this song. Other Jin songs that I love are "Epiphany" (I love its simple but meaningful lyrics), "Moon", "Yours" (this was for an OST / DRAMA), "Aweke" (the first solo song I heard from him and it left me totally enchanted), There is an Epiphany demo, which is a demo of that song that they released recently "Abyss" "it's gonna be you" (from an OST/drama sung along with V), the triple high note he made in "Cristal Snow", In "Dionysus" at the end in the background you hear some rock-type notes (sorry, I don't know the technical names) that go unnoticed For the incredible presentation of BTS in the MMA 2019 (It is a presentation at one of the awards, it is long mv and great.
