Quote from Tatiana regarding the song: “I’m always ready to do some psychology and self-analysis. The result I got was "Mediator”, which has to do with compassionate, sensitive people. I feel this is basically another word for “introvert” or “wallflower” - it’s all connected. But the song is about when I was younger. I was an idealist. I wanted to see things as perfect and people as kind. But the reality is harsh. You grow up and you realize you still have a lot to learn - a lot of lessons that can’t be taught in school. Life lessons."

I have always thought of metal as a man's world. There have always been some women and that's perfectly fine - but admittedly it has been male dominated. I know people will pull out a band that they like (Drain S.T.H., Nightwish) and say I'm wrong, but Jinjer actually has made me hopeful that women can THRIVE in this space because Tatiana is so good at her craft. Now, as I have listened to more of this band, I am actually impressed with ALL OF THEM. I have said it before and I will say it again - Jinjer is on the cusp of doing what Pantera did for the scene in the early 90's - revive/save/change how it has to be from now on - they are that good. I can't wait until another lady makes me want to hear more like Tatiana did because I would have missed out on the talent of the whole rest of the band. Roman continues to find these lines/riffs that are amazing, Eugene absolutely interfaces with where Roman is and Vlad just lays down a beat and a foundation that Eugene also compliments. It is the 3 right puzzle pieces for a new era of music - throw in an amazing singer like Tatiana and BOOM - you have musical bliss.
@WykkedMofo3 жыл бұрын
Never put much thought into it. If I like the song, I like it. Period! Don't matter who sings it. That being said, Tatiana is a WHOLE other level of vocal greatness! She can seduce you with her cleans and shake your soul when she "growls". She is... Perfection. \m/

I grew up with Metallica and Iron Maiden, so I have a history of preferring male fronted metal bands...mostly cause there weren't many female fronted metal bands back then. The exception being Wendy O Williams, but many would argue her being punk and not metal. Over the past decade or two there have been a number of female fronted metal bands that I have absolutely fallen in love with! In This Moment, Skillet, Hailstorm, Evenanescence, Jinjer, The Pretty Reckless (also not exactly metal), Nightwish, just to name a few. All of them are amazingly talented and awesome in their own way. Do I prefer female leads to male? Not exactly. They are all on my play lists right along the male fronted bands, and I hit "shuffle"

Have to agree, I love Jinjer, this just seemed like a mish-mash performance. The coherence of pretty much all of the rest I've heard from them is somehow off here. It wasn't that any of it was bad on its own, they are all great artists/musicians, it just didn't mesh for me. Doesn't sour me on the band at all, but hey, it can't all be gold. I think it was a beat or two off from being the cohesive sound they usually have, and it just seemed like Tati was on tone at the wrong times. She is amazing in her ranges, but this just didn't jive like it usually does. Odd choices for me. Just my opinion.
