"Perennial" is a metaphorical song about the description of "Death and Rebirth" from the perspective of Mother Nature, about seasonal change from Autumn to Spring, using Perennial Plants as the metaphor. Perennial Plants wilt and retreat into themselves during winter, and then rise and bloom again in spring and summer. Tati suffers from Seasonal Depression, which clinically can be termed as "Seasonal Affective Disorder" (SAD). When the season changes to fall and nature starts dying, she feels like she is dying from within as well. In the spring when nature comes back to life, she too feels like she has been reborn again like rising from the ashes like a Phoenix just like a Perennial Plant blooming again in spring. There is definitely strong dichotomy in this song, but I would say that it differs from Pisces in that while Pisces is about the Duality of Good and Evil within oneself, Perennial is more about the Never-ending, Inevitable Cycle of Life and Death.

With Perennial being about the cycle of death and rebirth, many have missed Tatiana’s quip during her intro to this performance: “Rather not goodbye, but… SEE YOU NEXT TIME!”

i didn't really get why people like growly bands until i heard jinjer. the absence of the growl makes her voice sound so beautiful. it also doesn't hurt that every other member of the band is brilliant but also clearly has spent obsessive amounts of time working at their craft.

If you want to hear Jinjer actually going hard, I recommend checking out the official videos for Sit, Stay, Roll Over (older song, got them signed to Napalm) or Mediator (newer song). They play both live but doesn't look like they've had Mediator in their set list as openers on the current tour. Even Sit, Stay, Roll Over which is a staple of their sets hasn't always been played this tour.

They have been opening with Perennial. Another great live performance is "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev. I think this is in their set list. Vortex is fantastic. I think they are also playing "Ape", which is one of my favorites. Honestly, anything on the set list currently is a banger.

Nice Reaction! From what I understand about this song is that Tatiana kind of goes into a depression in the Winter and is comparing that to a Perennial house plant, which every Winter loses all of it's leaves and flowers and is just basically a stick, sticking out of the ground and appears to be dead. But when spring comes it blooms and gets it's leaves and flowers back. "From the ashes of my roots, I rise to live again."

Listening to the full setlist before the show can be a challenge because Jinjer sometimes can make very complex music that doesn't click right away. Like "Ape" for instance, this song can seem very chaotic and unsettling at first, but grows on you the more you listen to it :) Anyway, have fun at the show!

Jinjer is by FAR my favorite band of all time! I have seen them live, back in 2018 and they are best LIVE! Tati is a phenomenal songwriter, it is sheer poetry and most, if not all, comes from her own personal experiences, those of the band, and her surroundings. Every song is a story, and those stories are told as poetry. Tati uses her amazing vocal range to evoke the emotions that go with that poetry. As a front a band could not wish or hope for better than Tati. Although Tati has earned every ounce of praise and recognition she deserves (actually she deserves MUCH more), Roman, Eugene, and Vladi are all world-class musicians in their own right. I truly get joy from hearing their music and watching them perform, they pour out their souls on stage and anyone privileged enough to see them in person needs to savor every moment. If you get a chance to meet with any of them, they are super nice, humble, and genuine. Enjoy the concert, I am envious but very happy that you will have an opportunity to experience something I've experienced. Keep up the reactions and Jinjer!

I always appreciate people who take the time and read the lyrics because on one hand everyone has a bit of a struggle to understand harsh vocals but on the other hand those lyrics are far to beautiful for it to not be whitnessed. "Annual tradition of mass destruction, in the name of total reconstruction." Thats incredibly poetic. The sort of stuff you almost exclusively hear in metal. Name me one single rap, country or pop song that has lyrics like that. There are a few but they are rare.

I've seen them 5 or 6 times and they have always had this song in their set list. To me, it's one of their best. You have yet to listen to anything from the latest album Wallflowers (2021). The song of the same name from the album is probably their most chill vibe and the video is dope. Think I mentioned Vortex before which was the first single from the album they played live and dropped the video for. This video is also pretty cool but also makes me dizzy. Bottom line, there are a ton of videos covering the last decade plus of this band. The further back you go the more you see how they've evolved since the beginning. Personal recommendations and potential songs they will play: Words of Wisdom (older song that they've tossed back into the rotation. Pit of Consciousness, my personal favorite. Also has a good video but most, including myself prefer the "Live in Kiev" version. From Wallflowers and likely in the set-list or on rotation: Colossus, Copycat, Sleep of the Righteous, As I Boil Ice, Mediator. Side note: If I am not mistaken, they have 1 song with only clean vocals and that is "Bad Water" from their 2014 album Cloud Factory.

The Show is going to be great. Tatiana has interviews on youtube, she seems so down to earth. All of them in the band really. It's hard not to feel like they are all your family when you hear their interviews. You end up rooting for them and their cause completely. If you want a song with no growling. Check out Black Water. Chill, and just her singing. Try going to the show in your early 50's. I haven't gone to a show in years but I HAD to get out and see them sepcifically. Great People, Great Band.

Tati has seasonal affective disorder. This song is a poem of how she relates that to nature going into winter, and then renewing itself. She really is a fantastic and thoughtful poet. There is very little frivolity in their songs. Most are about something fairly deep and introspective. love this reaction. "Teacher Teacher" ...It's their anthem...And likely their opener at the show. Cheers

Looking at the setlists for the shows since this tour kicked off on the 7th (before was doing headlining side gigs in between concerts while opening for Disturbed) the setlist has been switched around a bit. Pisces is on the setlist now. Also there is one of their most popular protest songs Who Is Gonna Be The One which is a banger and has a great live video. Teacher Teacher official is another really good one to do before the show, also Vortex and Call Me A symbol. The whole setlist is just awesome. I have no idea how they narrow down their discography to just a show's worth of songs though haha. Cheers!

p.s. about wishing you could growl, The Fairy Voice Mother reacts with a friend and gives her a really actionable growling tutorial in her reaction to Electric Callboy's song Hypa Hypa. Just saying. ;) Also if you want some inspiration in that regard, I'd highly recommend anything with Melissa Bonny such as "Marching On Versailles" or "I Am The Storm" by her band Ad Infinitum, Rage of Light's "Twilight of The Thunder God" (Amon Amarth cover), or "Jenny of Oldstones" from GoT covered by a side project she's in called Dark Side of the Moon. Feurerswanz's cover of Ding with her doing featured vocals is fun too.

-This is in my Top Five of their songs especially this performance. -Saw them last Friday in Myrtle Beach. Amazing show. They opened with this and kept the excitement going throughout. The set list I sent you was pretty much what they did here. However, from what I’ve seen, it’s not the same everywhere. I think I saw where they did “Wallflowers” at a show on this tour. So, there may be some deviations. Either way, go and I hope you enjoy the show.

@@jen.g.My one MINOR complaint is that the set list was pretty much the same as the shows I saw in Charlotte(December & July which was them as an opening act). Don’t get me wrong. The show was still awesome. They did four songs from my Top 5 favorites. I had a blast like I had when I saw them the 1st time in December, which was also the first concert I had been to in a long ass time. Among the songs I know they’ve done live on recent shows, I would love to hear: -“Wallflowers” -“Mediator” -“On The Top” For songs I don’t know if they’ve done live, I’d love to hear: -“Bad Water”(The song that made me a fan) -“Scissors” -“Exposed As A Liar” I guess I just have to keep seeing them live whenever they’re in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia.

@@ashlenamusic I loved your The Warning concert vlog, I would recommend if at all possible, do the meet and great, they are very kind and humble people, and Eugene (bassist) likes meeting reactors. The other band members are very quiet but will open up if you ask them something and Tatiana has a awesome sense of humor. Meeting them makes the show even wilder because they are so chill and turn into absolute beasts on stage! I would recommend watching the first Digital Bus Invaders interview to get a idea of how chill they are.

A bit of trivia about this concert: - The letter "w" in German has a "v" sound, so Wacken should be pronounced like "vacken". - It was their 1st time at this festival and they were playing on a secondary stage at around 11 AM (yes, you read it correctly, it was that early!). - This wasn't supposed to be their last song but some problems with the stage's gear delayed the start of their set and because of that they had to cut it short. They only played around 30 minutes. - The vocal harmonies that you hear at 5:22 were added in post. They do use backing tracks with intros, some guitar and vocal parts and other assorted sounds but not for this song.

This is such a great performance. I was going to see Jinjer recently, but unfortunately the show got cancelled, so I'm super jealous that you'll be seeing them soon. I hope you have a great time! When you're done with your Jinjer binge, I'd like to recommend Spiritbox. A good place to start would be Rule of Nines or perhaps Circle With Me. And I'm looking forward to seeing you check out some more Babymetal as well! I hope the comment section from your first reaction to them wasn't too unpleasant - I know some fans can get really defensive, but I totally understand what you were saying. If you check out more of their older stuff, the studio mixing was pretty bad, so I definitely would recommend live versions such as Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere or Rondo of Nightmare live at Budokan. If you want to listen to something more recent, you might like Mirror Mirror, which has both a lyric video and a video with live footage (and studio audio).

These songs wouldn't be on the song list but if you want to hear a song that is all clean vocals it would be "Bad Water" (there is a live video version). There are also two songs off their album King of Everything one at the beginning and one at the end. Beggars Dance and Prologue. Both have the same lyrics but are different styles. The lyrics are lines taken from each song on the album including Pisces. They are on Spotify and on KZbin in the form of short videos with just the album cover and the song.

Naah, nothing special, she's just ukrainian. We're all like that - we're usually chill and calm, but when we're going wild, we're going wild. Greetings from Kyiv, Ukriane. Glad you found something enjoyable for yourself.

Jinjer is what you get when you have the best of all time in their respective instruments. Glad the drummer has taken the number one spot Neil Peart. Eugene just kicked Les Claypool out as the best bassist of all time. Roman walked all over Eric Clapton. And, lastly, Tati took it by being herself, no other singer even compares. They literally have ruined all of the music I purchased in my 46 years. They make all the other band sound like shit.
