It amazes me how full their sound is with just 3 instruments. And their musicianship is just incredible. Their ability to handle poly rhythms throughout their music is unmatched. Put Tatiana's vocals on top of it and it deserves the score. Having listened to many of their songs, this IS my favorite.

Yes ,her name is Tatiana. Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass, and Vlad on drums. The guys were recently allowed to leave Ukraine. And this was one of the songs they played last week at Hellfest in France.

If you prefer her cleans I think you would really like I Speak Astronomy. The musicianship in that one is absolutely sick, and it's mostly clean vocals, with some wicked clean belts. Just don't be fooled by the false ending 3/4 of the way through. The OMV for that one is great too

Vortex or Retrospection is also great in that case… and then there’s Bad Water, which is only cleans, right?

Amazing live, but this is one I prefer the studio version/MV. I love when they layer the growl and clean. It adds even more depth

Good morning from New England..Hell yes I've been into Jinjer since 2015 and I've said many times that Eugene the bassists is the Cliff Burton of this era..It's the chords the tapping the note choices...and I think Roman is such an underated guitarist and Vlad the drummer is a multi instrumentalists and actually wrote ALL the music to the newish album Wallflowers...Great song great show...Peace from the Northeast..

Great reaction. Love this band. I love her cleans more too but her growls are so good. The way she commands the stage is top notch. Musicianship is out of this world. Jinjer and Nemophila have dominated my listening for a while now.

This song is great, but for something more current I like the song Vortex. I just love the way Vlad Drums.

Like that score! It's justified, one of their best, one of the best performances. Absolutely one of the best instrumental ensemes in metal. Funny you should bring up Vlad, the drummer. He started off as a classically trained pianist and learned drums. I think he thinks like a pianist still, but brings that sensibility to drums. Tatiana? She never disappoints. Great reaction!

Great analysis as usually. I agree with you about Tatiana's voice; I would love to see her do some Amy Winehouse covers. In fact I love the jazz influences on the band and would love them try to do some jazz covers also. I recommend listening to 'Beggar's Dance" to hear how good they are when they do explore their jazz abilities.

In case if you are interested in Tatiana's clear voice you could check out the cover of Alice In Chains - Man In The Box by Tatiana with the band Suicide Silence. No growls from Tatiana, only clean vocal. This song perfectly showcase her abiliteis in a low clean register. It's realy something else.

As you may be aware, Jinjer is a Ukrainian band. Until a few weeks ago, the 3 male members were effectively trapped in Ukraine because after Russia invaded, the government decreed that fighting age men could not leave the country. They were since given the status of "cultural ambassadors" with the right to travel, and they are now touring Europe. I know that you prefer to react to live performances, but I'm going to recommend that you react to the Official Music Video for Home Back. The song was released in 2019, and is an incredibly intense, heavy, powerful and creative reaction to the 2014 Russian annexation of Crimea and support of militant separatists in eastern Ukraine where 3 of the 4 members are from (the drummer, Vlad, is from Kiev). The OMV adds significantly to the power and intensity of the track. If you insist on a live performance, I'd suggest the 2021 Hellfest performance (no audience due to COVID), or the 2022 Hellfest performance (*please* include Tatiana's brief statement regarding the war immediately before yhe song). Peace ✌️.

It's just such a fucking great band. I think the lineup has been pretty steady for a while now, too, which for me personally is a great plus. There's just something extra about bands whose members fit each other so well, merging seamlessly.

You should check out Jinjer - Vortex (Official Music Video) m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5rEgIZ9j7mqqrs As good as Teacher Teacher is, Vortex is better. Perhaps their most technical song. The drums are awesome on this. A real jazz feel to it.

I saw them last October in Seattle at a smaller venue we have called El Corazon lot of great bands have played there but I got to meet the band before the show and have them sign my poster they were unbelievably kind people the show absolutely blew my mind I was in front of tatiana the whole time being that close to the band further implanted into my mind how phenomenal they are as musicians

This track blew me away the first time, had to rerun this so many times to pick up the cool bits. Drummer Vlad is my fav these days, such rare feels with great technical execution without overdoing it and in sync with the band ... Vlad is a classical pianist and a metal guitarist if I recall correctly.

I've come to realise over the last 3 years that I don't have a favourite Jinjer song... just ones I like slightly more than others.. lol This was the first song on this show and Tati's voice just got better and better as the show progressed.. another incredible gig from this excellent band.

If you want to see them really go all out check out Jinjer Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev and as far as Jinjer goes their music is always going to impress and if you don't like what they are playing it's fine just realize that you are dead inside. Lol

Great as always! And I know why you chose the live version. It`s the magic of the whipped up audience and the moment just now. Nevertheless try out the official studio version also (not as a reaction but just for fun)! There you have the magic of the small details adding to the great magic. There they have added all the sweet layers they can`t do life as they lack the additional hands and vocal cords 😜🤘

Hi David. I recommend you check out the band Twelve Foot Ninja. I’d start with their song One Hand Killing. They’ve also done a song with Tatiana from Jinjer as they’ve toured together and she became a fan of them. The name of the song they collaborated on is Over And Out. Thanks man and I enjoy your opinions and your channel.
