That's my favorite song from Jinjer. All the other songs are either too much for me to handle (like Stay Sit Roll Over) or good but just not my thing (most of the songs including this one). Then there is Teacher Teacher that I just love.

What makes Jinjer most special is Tatiana's ability to evoke emotion from the audience and the band's ability to compose and perform music to match. They bring the feels with every song. I never liked growling vocals until I heard Jinjer even though I've been a metalhead ever since Metallica's Black album. Their songwriting is really deep, and I would recommend listening Who Is Gonna Be The One while reading the lyrics - it is worth it. I feel like understanding may help the feelings be less of a general sense of agitation and more purposeful - it is a great workout song too! A similarly powerful video is their performance of Captain Clock at Resurrection Fest. For something a bit lighter, their songs I Speak Astronomy and Bad Water are great. I tend to recommend live performances whenever possible, though the video for I Speak Astronomy is pretty awesome.

You hit the nail right on the head. I'm not even a metalhead in particular. I like some metal but I'm not really a genre guy, never really heard any growling that I was into until I saw this very performance. The entire band is just something very special. And I just can't get them out of my head, not that I'd want to though.

I'd also like to recommend that you also give symphonic metal a try. My favorite symphonic metal band is Nightwish. Most reactors start with Ghost Love Score, live at Wacken 2013, which showcases the lead singers vocal range but if you wanna jump into a more metal sound then try something like Romanticide or Ghost River from the same concert.

Yea, What Tatiana is for the harsher growl/fry screaming vocals, she is for clean angelic singing. ( She can do more rock/metal singign too, including light growling if needed) Both are vocal beasts that are spearheading the female leadsinger with versatility in their styles to allow thei rbands to explore beyond what they otherwise would have been able to.

It looks effortless because she's fully trained to produce that sound without tensing up. It's about a fine control of airflow over fairly loose vocal chords. This technique is called a 'fry scream', look it up: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocal_fry_register

LYRICS: Who's gonna remember what the sun is? Who's gonna keep on counting his another disease? Who's the one? Who's the man? Who's got the power To prolong for a second his final hour? Who is gonna be the one? Who will recognize his mother's face Without the protective mask that she wears? Is there any one who'll find a reply to the question "What does the water taste like?"? Who's gonna be the one who cares? Who's the daredevil to protest? Come on, you motherfucker, step up of the crowd! Raise your fist in the air and shout out loud! I am gonna be the one! Don't step aside! Fight back with full force! Pick up the weapon of your own choice Don't you just step aside! Don't deny the past you lived Don't neglect the future you have

Proper technique allows a vocalist to "scream" without injuring their vocal cords. It takes a lot of training for Tatiana to be able to do that properly. That's why I always have mad respect for people who can set aside their differences and open their minds to music like this because metal is too often labeled as "just noise" when the reality of it is that most metal bands are highly talented and well trained in their skill.

There's just something about this band that draws even non-metalheads in. Their songs span so many genres and styles that each song feels like a new surprise. Someone mentioned "Teacher, Teacher" in another comment and that's killer - so much variety in that song. For more of her clean voice I'd recommend "I Speak Astronomy" (live Summer Breeze version though the official video is also good). "Outlander" and "Cloud Factory" are groovy headbangers. Once you're conditioned and have built up some strength in preparation you could try "Sit, Stay, Roll over" ;-)
@j.f.fisher5318
@j.f.fisher5318 5 жыл бұрын
What makes Tati so amazing is her ability to communicate emotion, combined with the band's ability to compose and perform music to match. Whatever Jinjer does a song about, one can't help feeling. Who Is Gonna Be The One is a call to action, while Sit Stay Roll Over is a furious diatribe about fascists and is their most aggressive song.

You should check the set list for Jinjer's live show in Madrid from 2016. That audio quality and performance is BETTER than the studio recordings for the album, so you may want to decide which of those songs to react to so you can just enjoy their best work for yourself. Even as a hopeless Jinjer fan, I know there are plenty of other groups worth checking out in metal, such as: Black Sabbath Gojira Lamb of God Slipknot Aversion's Crown Korn Alien Weaponry And these are just some of my favorites that others may not have mentioned yet. It's hard to go wrong in the metal-verse, so keep having fun!

The front women is called floor Jensen, she is the third instalment and current front women to the band. There other songs like romantiside or poet and the pendulum are also worth a watch but ghost love score is definitely the song to introduce you to there music.
