Silco and Jinx are only father daughter, the creators did want you to feel uncomfortable because Jinx is in the body of a teenager yet she acts like a child still due to her trauma. Her being touchy with Silco is exactly how she was with Vi but when she thought Vi abandoned her and Silco was the one who first appeared after that huge traumatic experience he became her pillar of support instantly and only solidified himself as that person for her when he cradled her like she was his own. Also shimmer can be a good thing if taken sparingly or in small doses at a time. It’s a drug so too much and you become addicted, Silco had been using it before anyone else had and while he uses it I’m guessing daily for his eye, he’s not addicted bc to him it’s taking a perception, a small little injection of shimmer and done. Vi used a small drop of shimmer and she’s not addicted bc it wasn’t used for anything outside of healing herself. It becomes a problem when those like Dickard drank vials of it at a time.

Nah while Mel has the biggest political influence and wealth, she doesn't have everyone in her pocket. Caitlyn's mother is independent, she votes on what she thinks is right (which doesn't mean she's right though, she's still a rich out of touch topsider). In this case Cassandra voted with the other maybe because she doesn't want to be the only dissenting opinion (that can make you a target and lessen your power) or because she genuinely believe that the Council will do better work without Heimerdinger (let's be real he's not the best politician around). She is shook because tradition is important to her (it's the basis of her status after all) but it's not subordination to Mel that makes her vote this way. Cassandra Kiramman thinks too highly of herself to be in Mel's pocket. Hoskel is the only councilor who's in Mel's pocket, that's why she wants Jayce in the council, having a block of 3 councilors would be game changing. Heimerdinger of course is not corruptible but easily manipulable but she doesn't mind getting him out of the way because it's shown in Episode 4 that he still has too much influence on Jayce. Salo and Bolbok are opportunists like Hoskel so they're just happy to get rid of a stick in the mud like Heimerdinger. Mel can manipulate them easily but she doesn't outright control them. We see in Episode 2 that they refuse to vote not to exile Jayce even though Mel voted against exile.

The problem with Heimerdinger will always be that when he says not to do something, he then never gives an alternative solution. and tbh with you theres a reason why terms end in the real world, imagine being ruled by one person for centuries, and he doesn't really care that much about people, and its my theory that its because he has lost so many friends to old age that he detaches himself from the world, he has been the head of the council for 200 years and he did not do anything for Zaun.

He had no respect for human lives or lifespans because they are so short compared to his. A person like that should never have become a leader in a human civilisation, least of all for 300 YEARS.

As for the whole "Silco/Jinx" relationship...they very much are father/daughter. The thing is...Jinx has no real concept of personal boundaries. She ignores her own personal space because she doesn't want anyone to think she can't handle them. She doesn't respect anyone else's personal space because she does as she damned well pleases. Silco lets her behave that way because he wants her to have all the freedom she wishes for, and because he wants her to know he trusts her. They do love each other, but not at all the way it seems like in...certain...scenes. Jinx just doesn't understand what is and isn't appropriate behavior, and Silco just doesn't correct her. She has no sexual interest in him, nor he in her, so neither cares about the societal norms in showing affection in the kind of relationship they have according to outsiders.

There are a bunch of these kinds of moments sprinkled throughout part 2, where the physical interaction between Jinx and Silco makes the audience feel uncomfortable but it's all done on purpose; it's just another detail that helps depict how unhealthy and inappropriate their relationship is.

I keep coming back to Arcane reacts because I love this show, lol. Just wanted to toss in my two cents about Jinx/Powder -- because of her trauma, her senses are elevated. It's a common side effect of mental health conditions. I love how Arcane shows it; right before the Firelights arrive she immediately goes "Did you hear that?" not simply because she does hear voices in her head, but because it's not a familiar sound. Also her dodges and high dexterity are all indicators of her heightened senses as a result of that deep, deep trauma. I'm dying for Season 2 already!

Also, I love that everyone thinks of Powder as some sweet, innocent kid... but let's not forget that in the first episode, her solution to having someone coming after her was to throw a NAIL BOMB at them. I mean, sure, it didn't work... but that isn't for lack of trying! Right?!? Even as they were gearing up for what they thought of as a fight with Piltover, she was making nail bombs. The intent was there, it was only the execution that was lacking. Also, Jinx was originally created as a bit of a Harley Quinn knockoff, but... honestly, she's kind of surpassed the source material (at least in her on-screen portrayals). Death Battle even did a pretty glorious fight between Harley and Jinx XD Definitely worth watching.

We don't want Heimerdinger to be hurt, but he really has been blind to the corruption running rampant all around him, the suffering in the undercity, the underhanded deals of his fellow councilors... He has benevolent intentions and ideals, but that has not been enough to save the soul of the city This was best emphasized when the backroom deals were happening at the concert and Heimerdinger was just closing his eyes and enjoying the music while Jayce had to go make deals with all of the other councilors and play politics... Not to say Jayce is a better candidate in the end, he takes immediate actions rather than analyzing for better options. Heimerdinger always wanted him to listen to Heimer, but Jayce never received any credit or real analysis from Heimer. This kind of consequence was... rather inevitable.

Jinx is very much a massive upgrade from Harley Quinn. At least a solid order of magnitude. I've really never cared much for Joker or Harley as characters. Certain versions have been more interesting than others...but everyone keeps playing them off as "crazy" and...they're just NOT. They aren't crazy at all. The just have no empathy, and have massive impulse control problems. On top of that, Harley is self-destructively co-dependent, and Joker is a total Narcissist. But neither of them are even slightly insane. Both of them are fully cognizant of, and can distinguish between, reality and fantasy. They're not at all confused on that point. Jinx, by contrast, is in full-blown psychosis. She may well be deeply schizophrenic. She hasn't the faintest clue that the voices in her head aren't real people. Those voices are what goad her into her destructive behaviors, rather than just being like whatever Joker and Harley are. Jinx fights herself constantly, because she DOES still have empathy. She does still care. But the voices...they don't. They want to hate everything, destroy everything. They want everything and everyone to burn and hurt like she feels she's been hurt. What happened at the end of Ep3 was so devastating to her already emotionally underdeveloped and unstable mind, that it completely and irrevocably broke her. It was her brain's last-ditch effort to keep her from just giving up then and there and just falling over dead from the shock of it. That misplacement of blame and hatred, the dissociation of all her feelings, were the only thing that saved her. Her mind cracked, to avoid being shattered to dust. Jinx is to Harley Quinn, what Harley Quinn is to a perfectly emotionally-balanced individual.

I don't know - on a surface level I can see the similarities, sure, but character-wise they are all very different from each other. Harley Quinn, for example, is socially intelligent, extremely good at manipulating people to her benefit, where as Jinx is very lacking in social skills (I'm not even sure she actually understands the concept of "manipulation", which might explain why she reacts so violently to what she perceives as "lies"), and while Harley is emotionally unstable - like Jinx - Harley's volatility seems to come from a bipolar disorder (literally lacking the ability to regulate emotions) - or arguably a conscious choice not to restrain herself in a socially acceptable manner, whereas Jinx's comes from her trauma and hallucinations. Harley Quinn doesn't actually hear voices in her head, while she is definitely crazy, she likes to "play up" the stereotypes of the "crazy chick" to make people uneasy and/or underestimate her. As to the Joker, he is also a very talented manipulator - but more importantly, at his core he is a showman, theatrical and flamboyant in everything he does, always playing a role and treating the world as his stage... And loving every moment of it. He isn't burdened by self-doubt, usually, nor guilt or fear. He is in a lot of ways a very primal expressionist, who does not hold himself back for anything. And there are reasonable arguments made for how the Joker is not actually insane at all, but rather a political anarchist whose "clown persona" is as much of a mask as Batman's. All this, of course, depends on the adaptation of the Joker and Harley, as there are so many versions of each of them, and most are open to interpretation, that clearly defining any single trait in either of them is pretty much impossible.

i never get why people get mad at jayce kicking heimerdinger off the council- hes been in the council forever and did little to nothing to prevent or fix the issues this city has so its completely reasonable to kick him off- and yes hes knowledgable but if you dont use the knowledge to actively advance or help situations it no longer is enough to justify that much political power

If you think about it, Heimerdinger is much more problematic than he seems and kind of deserved being booted from the political position (which he literally held for over a century by the way). He is super naïve despite being the oldest one there. Since he's been there since the city was founded that means all the problems, the undercity, the inequality, the violent revolution that was violently put down, all of it happened while he was pretty much the president of the country. And yet all he has to offer to fix it is feel-good platitudes. His age and position as head of the academy/university also isolates him from humanity. Literally his first line in the story was going up to someone imprisoned under his authority waxing about how philosophically weird the concept of imprisonment is. He wants to take progress slow, just a decade or two, which for him is a mere ~3% of his life span (and he doesn't seem to be dying any time soon), while people from the poorer districts often barely make it to 40. Like Viktor for example. And when he has a heart to hear with said terminally ill Viktor, he talks about how the brightest minds often burn out the fastest. This would be very little comfort to someone that is such a bright light at the end of his life, but Heimerdinger must have had hundreds of students and assistants dying on him, at varying ages. Heimerdinger might have a good heart, but a good political leader he is not.

In the games vhi doesnt know how her parents died and isnt implied be enforcers but one the council families ilegal operatives instesd vhi also doesnt get arested she was a gang leader but vanished and when jinx began a terror spree she showed uo as a enforcer she became a cop to stop jinx

Uhm rukiya.. 10:51 the nails represent something more then that.. blue means powder and pink means jinx. And if u see the last episode of season 1, Jinx pulled put the big gun and shoot with her pink nails. That’s mean jinx is the one that shot the councler 😅
