Love them all. For Takedown #3, you have also have an option of dropping into an Osoto Gari, which is a personal fave of mine and a lot of Nogi guys dont see coming, and it gets you past the legs. All good stuff! Thanks so much for sharing.

I like this because it's a Karate mindset to strike before trying to take your opponent down if necessary. Awesome video! OSU.

Absolutely. Karate is commonly misunderstood as to its grappling applications in most systems of it. There is so much more grappling in many systems of traditional karate than many realize. Thank you!

Bjj and gjj has the same things and techniques but focus in different aspects gjj focus in self defence and d vale tudo(nhb or unarmed self defence) when bjj just gocus on sport gi or no gi. Personally i prefer to be able to deal with strikes and real life senarios without no rules that also have been test in cage or challenges and lose some completion matches. Great and useful video

Great channel. A lot of people wouldn't know how to clinch without getting blasted in the face. This makes me really wanna find a good MMA gym now but man, everything is so expensive. As always, for self defense, having a good 40 yard dash helps too lol

Excellent video. Striking as a distraction, go to clinch and then takedown and ground and pound would be my bread and butter if I was a fighter. But I am not... Just a lover of fighting sports, adsorbing what could be really usefull in a 'street fight' situation and training it as much as I can...

Excellent video as always Eli. I just wondered what your view is on grappling/bjj for the street. Obviously a lot of your techniques are more street applicable, but do you think grappling is a viable go-to tactic if escape and avoidance doesn’t work? Or are there just too many risks of getting kicked etc? Thanks again and keep doing what you do!
@KnightJiuJitsu7 жыл бұрын
I think everything depends on context and awareness of the situation/conditions. Grappling is necessary many times whether it’s preferable or not, and fights go where they go. Avoidance is obviously best. But whatever ends the fight as quickly as possible is best if avoidance isn’t possible. There are many risks in any fight, but knowing how to fight from every range and manage the ranges as well as possible is optimal. Hopefully, that answers what you were asking and I didn’t get too off topic. Haha. Thanks!
@jamesholt27057 жыл бұрын
Knight Jiu-Jitsu Thanks! That was really helpful and I totally agree. You want a plan for every eventuality, because often fights get messy and end up on the floor etc. Thanks again! I don't suppose you have any recommendations for places to train in London?

Can you do any knife stuff like if you are to late to stop the knife coming out what is your Preference would you Handle The situation standing up or on the ground
@KnightJiuJitsu7 жыл бұрын
I would prefer not to be in a fight at all! Especially if someone has a weapon. Avoidance first, end it standing if possible, grappling standing or ground if necessary. Whatever it takes to get out safely. As for knife considerations, I wouldn’t take quite this approach if he had a knife displayed. Other considerations and technical approaches would be necessary.

but in the single leg take down the head should be on the side not in the middle
@KnightJiuJitsu7 жыл бұрын
It can be finished that way, but it’s a little dangerous entering like that. And it can be finished with the head inside like I showed. There is also more chance of getting choked with the head on the side.
