In this video, I'll take you through the basic reloading process and show you what I do and share some of my thoughts for the .45 ACP. Enjoy! This is a fairly lengthy video, so grab some popcorn! I made this video for people considering the adventure of reloading and I think it will be interesting to them...
Here's a list of some of the equipment that I used in this video:
Lee Reloader Single Stage Press
Lee autoprime tool
Lee autoprime shellholder set
Lee .45ACP dies
Rcbs casemouth brush
Dillon DCL case lube
Dillon case length gage
Rcbs shellholder
Lee trimmer and lock stud
Lyman Universal Trimmer
L.E. Wilson primer pocket tool
Frankford Arsenal DS-750 Electronic Powder Scale
Lee funnel
Home Depot digital calipers...

out of all the books and videos. I think your baic aproach and direct instructions has converted me to start hand-loading myself. I love the single press method, And your instructions need to be in book format. Im sure down the road Id have 100 questions, but for our 40sw xdm and 45 glock, and soon to be a 45 xd. You made this ol boy real happy. THANK YOU FOR THE TIME YOU MADE AND SHARED IN YOUR VIDEO.

My favorite dies are my Hornady dies but being I do not want to replace my Lee and rcbs dies since I already have them, I bought a 6 pack of Hornady lock rings to replace the rings that came on my Lee and rcbs dies and now I don't have to adjust my dies every time I switch them. $20 had saved me a ton of time of readjusting my dies. Good videos!

There’s 4 pistol bays side by side at my outdoor range. I used to love it when people would pull up and shoot for 20-30 mins and leave. I would walk over there once they left, and pickup all the .45 brass they left. It’s crazy. You’re leaving money on the ground

I am just getting into this hobby. My father in law is a walking encyclopedia on this stuff. Way back when we first met we were in his wood shop and I saw six 5 gallon buckets overflowing of tire weights. That's when I learned about all this. Can't "weight" to get involved. He has dies for about 12 or so different calibers. Thanks for the vids!

Thank you! I think this is the only reloading video that I have where I didn't trim. I don't trim my .45 brass that often. My bullets fire and feed just fine. I had the same problem that you mentioned before. I trimmed my brass and it didn't change anything. I seated my bullets a little deeper and it fixed the problem for me. Have a good day! :)

Thanks for the video! I am just getting familiar with the reloading process and have found your videos very informative! And I hope you'll forgive me for being pedantic enough to point out that with the case lube, the alcohol is not a propellant. It's a dispersant. It makes the oil thin enough to be sprayed through the nozzle of the bottle, and allows the oil to flow a little more freely so that it coats the brass before the alcohol evaporates! 🤘🙏🏼

The range we use requires that we pick up our brass. I must have a couple of thousand rounds in two of those five gallon buckets. Tried to sell them on the marketplace and ebay but no takers. So now I know what to do with 'em. My better half will be upset with the initial expense of the reloading hardware but will be delighted at at the savings over box ammo. Several years ago I was reloading 12 gauge but sold those as it got to be a chore to shoot skeet. .45 is is ever so much more precise and she has a blast shooting her GI 1911. Am going to show her this video and maybe get two of these presses so she can do the resizing while I do the expanding. Now that we are both retired, this will be a great couple bonding time. Along with the range and wild shooting. Thanks ever so much for this multifaceted video!

Buddy, I really like how you explain all the little details of your work! You don't assume the viewers know everything and you give reasons why you do or don't do something, instead of just blowing thru the process just to get to the end result. I'm just a few pieces of equipment away from reloading myself, and your .45ACP and 30-30 videos are going to be a tremendous help (those are the 2 calibers I'll be loading 1st) when I'm ready to rock & roll! Very good illustration on how to reload. You were very through and explanatory in the process of reload in your reloading methodology. Keep up the good work! One thing to add is cleaning the brass. Yes, very nice job on how to do basic reloading. The cases with small primer pockets can cause you a problem when priming if mixed in with mostly large pockets, I had a few Federal small primer cases in with my mostly large pocket cases and it stops the whole process. So like the guy said inspect the cases and weed out the small pockets. When you get enough small pockets load them, they'll shoot the same as the large.

It’s near the end of 2020, I discovered your channel today, and have watched three of your reloading videos(9mm, 7mm, and this one). I bought a reloading setup from a guy who is retiring, and can not wait to get into reloading some of this stuff

Received a Lee Anniversary Reloading Kit for Christmas this year. Will begin reloading 45 ACP and this video was exceptionally well thought out, clear, and nicely paced. Good work! Thanks and have a great New Year.
