Independent manufacturer company Love Makita. Chain speed means nothing for light duty application. Prevents the saw from overheating and the chain from smoking.

Thank you so much. I've spent my life as a chainsaw person and my dad now needs a lighter saw because he's in his 80s. This is perfect. We've only used big chainsaws until now and I have the full Nikita 18 V already so it fits.

I've learned with battery powered chainsaws that the secret to getting the most cuts is keeping the RPMs up and letting the saw do the work. If you just have a couple of cuts to make, you can push them. But if you have a lot of cutting to do, keep the chain sharp and RPMs up. When you hear them drop, you're pulling a lot more amps. They are amazing tools. I have the dual battery Makita and the Milwaukee. I like them both. The Makita, as usual, is smoother with higher chain speed. The Milwaukee has a little more power, but slower chain speed. A LOT slower. The both get the job done. Solid review, keep up the good work.

Good video, thanks! I just got this delivered from Home Depot. At first, I thought someone had removed the battery from the box, but the battery was attached to the saw. There was an empty square area where a battery would have fit. There is no chain oil included in the box. There's a spot it would have fit. Past saws I've bought from other brands have included chain oil. I'm almost wondering if they sent me a repackaged unit. All my battery power tools are Makita and a couple are 17 years old now with no problems.

Really stuck between the two. Have you cut in 10" plus with the single battery one? If you needed one for a weekend warrior, which would you choose?

It is tougher to cut dry branches. I wonder why you let the wood gets too close to end of blade? I would let the blade hit wood at the middle.

That's cool. I've been eyeballing ryobi's and Milwaukee's since i have those platforms.

Thank you! I don't buy tools to much anymore these days. I already have what I need. If makita would sponsor if so much more makita videos. I haven't used the 40v line. I wish this tools were backwards compatible to use the 18v batteries. That would have been great!

JIUJITSU2000 back doing tool reviews, namely Makita !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What’s up Brutha? I’m still miffed at Makita for shutting down their GAS OPE line, especially the ‘DolKita’ saws! Argh. 😠 They should have the best cordless saws with all the years of experience they had with Dolmar. XGT will probably be the way to go. Insiders say they ( Makita ) have a saw that will exceed all expectations, just waiting on the battery technology that will power it? I don’t know? Cordless has its place, but I really cant imagine taking any of these out into the woods, and doing serious work, unless I have a bag full of freshly charged batteries!? Peace and Blessings!
