I think JJK is only being nominated for the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc because Shibuya Incident came out after the cutoff date (anything after Summer 2023). Also if you look closely at the poster they use for JJK, it says which arc it is at the bottom 😉

10:20 Nick, as a professional dog trainer, you handled the situation perfectly, but there's two minor points you got wrong: 1) Pitbulls don't actually go into lockjaw, you can force their mouth open with the proper lever (I would strongly advise you to get a couple of break sticks, they work wonders even with dogs with stronger bite force than pitbulls, such as english mastiffs or kangals), it's just not the ideal thing to do, because you might end up being bitten, even by accident, by the dogs 2) The finger up the butt is actually pretty useless, physical pain in general won't do much, dogs are used to endure pretty severe injuries while fighting (think of a pitbull getting mauled by a wild boar during a hunting trip, or a german shepherd getting stabbed by the criminal that apprehended, what's a finger in the butt compared to that?), the only actually efficient way to separate two dogs engaged in a fight is to cut their airflow by chocking them. I know it sounds barbaric, but it's just for a couple of seconds, you don't need to hang them like they're pirates, run a slip lead around their neck and just pull until they open their mouth trying to grasp some air. At that point, pull them away and physically separate them. I've done this multiple times with bigger and meaner dogs than either Wagyu, Neutron or Blanka, and trust me on this, it is the single best way to handle it.

I think Bocchi really deserves best direction purely because of how they elevate a 4koma manga to such a high level. Like they took entire bits and brought them to whole new comedic level. The adaptation is just so fucking good.

no joke, delicious in dungeon (everyone just calls it dungeon meshi) has some of my favourite manga designs ever, the creator Ryoko Kui is such a talented artist especially at designing fantasy characters, you got to look up her work. also important fun fact about dungeon meshi is that the manga is complete, and ryoko kui specifically didnt want the anime to air until it was done which you gotta respect the hell out of. also the story itself rules, the setting is so good and the characters easily beat out any major shonen cast in terms of charm and depth

For future reference with Wagyu, water over the face and into the nose will make them let go. Also for anyone scared of pitbulls, their jaw doesn't literally lock. They can release it if they want but it's called that because of how hard they can bit down and hold. Love dogs, had a bad experience myself but I'd foster again in a heartbeat. Glad everyone's okay.

Hey Nick, I know you didn’t ask but if you ever have to break up anymore dogfights I have some advice since I’ve had to break up my fair share. I have a pitbull and pitbull boxer in my house that have fought many times before, first I suggest always keeping a collar on them, then once the fight starts and you get to them, grab the collars and twist so they can’t breathe, that should have them let go, then toss one away and make sure they don’t get back into contact until each are calmed down. I’m sorry you had to go through this but you have a cool scar which sounds like a win for me

1:57:36 I love Btooom! If I remember correctly, that fake game cover art is actually the cover of a manga volume. In the world of Btoom!, the battle royale they are forced to participate in is based on an explosives based fps game that shares its name with the anime. There are different kinds of bombs, from timer bombs that are excellent for trapping, impact bombs that explode on impact, as well as some remote controlled bombs that are weaker, but can be flown around by the user. There are some wilder bombs as well, like corrosive gas and implosion. I highly recommend the show. It is criminally underrated and has a BANGER opening

I grew up with an extremely aggressive pitbull and have 3 others now. You need a break stick. Pitbulls jaws don’t actually lock but they have a strong jaw due to how they were bred. Using the break sitck you can force the jaw open then instantly pull the dog away from anything or anyone, it’s difficult but effective. Ideally you never find yourself in the position of needing it though

6:00 as a dog owner the way you stop a fight is to pull the tail it’ll make them think another dog is biting them the problem is there’s no dominance in the home all you have to do Nick is keep them together and have them play more and have whoever watches them make sure there trained and disciplined my dogs are trained in protection and service the main thing all your dogs now that the new puppy is gone should get along just next time make sure if you gotta go outta town keep your bigger dogs outside I do this a lot when I’m rehoming

Psycho Pass as a series is a mixed bag, but if you want to watch a near perfect season one (that you can watch self contained and never continue onwards) Psycho Pass did it right. The original director KILLED it with its themes and sci fi premise and I hate how slept on the series is. Extremely compelling story and characters (main and supporting), stunning animation, satisfying conclusion. Season one is incredible. Everything onwards feels a little off but is still a good time if you want to see more with the charcters and the world. It's a show about living in a constant surveillance state, but the government isnt just watching your movements, its CONSTANTLY monitoring your mental state. If you start to slip psychologically/emotionally, you need immediate therapy. The worse your mental health gets the more severe the consequences become (imprisonment, death) and those consequences happen FAST. ONE bad day, one mental breakdown you can't handle could get you locked away. And that's just the basic premise of the world, there's so many more layers to it. The main character being a rookie cop who Trusts the System until she starts to see all the ways the system doesn't work. Again, first season? Absolutely worth it.

man if Heavenly Delusion is in just about ANY category I'm voting for it. it has no chance against the big dogs since Disney took it and HID IT from most audiences, but its been a long time since a show made me feel like Heavenly Delusion made me feel. Like, legitimately SCARED, primarily. the director did such an amazing job creating such a creepy and threatening atmosphere and making you really feel for charcters that you hardly understood. the first time I watched the doctor episode i sobbed, and that was BEFORE i had any context for it.

Proper duels in Harry Potter are a lot more interesting than Harry vs Voldemort because knowledge of spells matters heavily and how to weave them with each other is what really shows the skill. Dumbledore vs Voldemort, Mcggonagall vs Snape, Dumbledore vs Grindlewald are examples of proper duels where knowledge and ingenuity won the duels. I know this doesnt matter but im the biggest Harry Potter nerd so i had to throw that out there :p

Honestly, I've never really vibed with JJK, but if I was judging just by the flashback arc (easy 9/10 to me) then it would be a serious contender, but I can't give season 2 part 2 anything above a 7/10, because while it was still better than Demon Slayer season 3, both just feel like shallow visual spectacle and nothing else for me. In my opinion, Frieren, Oshi no ko, Vinland or CSM (don't know if that even counts) deserve the title MUCH more. By popular vote it wins for sure, not even taking recency bias into account, it's just insanely big.
