It's against Kidderminster, so you can probably work out the reason for the lyrics. Most chants are started by a small group as they are either well known or the crowd catches on reasonable quick. Some chants can be started with a single word or a drum beat

There are much better complications than this tbh. Also the reason they’re singing “sky tv is fucking shit” is because sky always pick the games to broadcast and change the kick off time without a care for the supporters. The fans could have their tickets for a Saturday afternoon and then a few weeks before they’ll change them to a Sunday evening (meaning if it’s an away game the supporters get back at sometimes 1am or later when having to get up for work at 6am)

There are generally 4 rhythm's of chant, 3 are spur of the moment ones where one person starts shouting it and then either people join in or not.. and then there is that 1 which seems to be team specific, but outside of those 4, the really team specific ones like singing about the team manager are generally made up on the supporter forums but the 'singing section' A "league tour" is when you get relegated and then immediately promoted again, or.. you get promoted and then immediately relegated.. since the start of 'parachute payments' teams team to get relegated get the payout and buy players and then get promoted again

A few of the bigger clubs have great song books, of songs that have been handed down through the ages. Liverpool have an excellent amount of songs that don't just fit into the standard cookie cutter chants. I shouldn't admit this but man united also has a good song book too.

Songs can be from actual songs, but also from opera's and musicals. Very cultured indeed. Some are standard, just switch names. Others are spontaneous. Do know that, especially "Away" fans already had a long trip, starting with beers from the start. These Away fans feel more like a group, a unity. That's why many times you hear them more than the Home fans.

Disgraced footballer Adam Johnson remains without a club seven years on from his sacking by Sunderland, where he spent the majority of his professional career following spells at Middlesbrough and Manchester City. The 35-year-old was dismissed by the Black Cats shortly after pleading guilty to sexual activity with a child and child grooming, which landed him a six-year prison sentence back in 2016.

League One Tour - bit of explanation of the significance of that. Unlike US Major League Soccer and most US sports in general, most Association Football has a system of promotion and relegation...whereby several teams, usually top 2, 3 or 4 get promoted to the next higher tier league (until they're in the highest tier) and the same number of teams that finish bottom of a league are relegated to the next lower tier. There's no languishing at the bottom and getting the pick of best players in any sort of draft system, neither is there guaranteed TV payments to all... Getting relegated can have pretty negative effects on a club...there are some short term protections (**see below), but generally, the longer you languish in the lower reaches of the football league the harder it is to get back up. Premier league and, to a lesser extent, Championship TV payments are very lucrative, but then those start to drop off by the time you get to League one and Two and Non-league...Not to mention attendances tend to plummet. Less TV money and dwindling ticket sales means clubs can't pay wages so they have to sell their best players and can't afford to buy new ones. There's a lot at stake to stay in a league or get promoted out of it... Whatever team that was, they'd been relegated out of the Championship into League One (hence going on a league one tour)....and they're hoping that they bounce right back up and gain promotion the next season...'we're going down, but straight back up!' - I don't know if they did or not. **There's a system of what's called 'parachute' and 'solidarity' payments paid to clubs that is based on the value of the Premier League's TV rights - as previously mentioned, dropping out of the Premier league is potentially financially ruinous for clubs so the first year teams are relegated they get (I think) something like 55% of their TV money they would have got had they stayed in the league...and the second year that drops to about 45% and then finally IF they are a team that had been in the Premier for at least two seasons they get a third year's payment of about 20%...but then that's it and they're on their own again. So if they don't go back up...then tough. Then the 'solidarity' payments...again more Premier League money is allocated and shared out across all the teams in the other leagues...I think it's about £100 million or so currently, so it doesn't go all that far when shared out and each league gets a smaller and smaller piece of the pie to share.

There's a couple I've seen others watch that are like "Football explained for Americans" and such, and they're always fun to watch a reaction to. "We´re all going on a league one tour" refers to the European sport system, where the bottom 2-3 teams are relegated (kicked out of the league) at the end of every season and replaced by the top 2-3 teams in the division below. That´s what they mean when they sing "we´re going down, but straight back up". They expect (or at least hope) to get promoted back up again next year. I have never seen any american get that reference since you don´t have relegation in US sports.

some context, the first one about adam johnson, he played for sunderland, my home team, he went with15 years old and went to prison i think, the crowd singing is newcastle fans, our arch enemy, 9 miles between us, as for the football fans, its pure hatred, if they got to each other it would be a blood bath, having said that, you can go work enjoy normal life in either city no problem, you could not wear the opposing shirt in the cities, you would die, for real, as well as that, there are another couple of north east teams, middlesboro and hartlepool, football is a passion, and we do like all our teams to do well, when we not playing each other, we joked and put up newcastle flag at the bag of work in sunderland, a joke that backfired, we were scared, flag was ripped down and burnt, and what we got told would happen to us, i never want to hear again lol

I don't know where this guy works but it's not that intense. My geordie teacher had a newcastle flag in our classroom full of teenagers in sunderland and never got any bother. Supposedly, the rivalry dates from the civil war when one city was roundhead and the other was cavalier

@@tigerlily2519 i worked in sunderland, i also, lived next to the old roker park, i also served my time in gateshead back in the 80's, , the context is the football rivalry, not the everyday life, as your from the north east, we support all our north east teams and want them to do well, even if we are not, newcastle started with great season, we welcome that , it supports the north east, but not on derby match days, thats a different thing

I think my favourite is the "Sky TV is ****ing shit" whilst the Sky TV presenters are trying to do a pre-game piece to camera on the field. The sound man must have been doing his nut trying to balance the sound levels to dim that out 😆 I also suspect the visiting fans singing the Kiddy family (Adams family tune) are from the club I support Mansfield Town. The players in red are Kidderminster and those in yellow and blue could be Mansfield.

Reference to drums is because some teams have a really fat guy who takes a drum along and beats it throughout the game without his shirt on - topless. If he isn’t there, like in the video, they’ll pick on a fat guy in the crowd and claim he’s eaten his drum.

@@JJLAReacts Anyone called Ferguson is probably gonna be called Fergie at some point in their life! Try asking your comments section for their nicknames, I bet most have just got a "y" tagged on. My exhusband was called Bunny (surname of Bunn). My maiden name was Hazleton so not so easy to make into anything, being a Sharon I got called anything from Shaz to Shazbat to Shash (teen years for obvious reasons....) xxx

Nonce is actually misused and is an acronym for prisoners who are not forbidden to interact with other prisoners, usually for their own safety.Us Brits tend to use it for anyone we consider to be a threat to children.

There are a few "cookie cutter" chants, like the "she said no" one, it gets ehouted at any player who might be under accusation of sexual assault. Also, the "league one tour" thing is because the league system, where you saw that league one is the third tier, has a promotion/relegation system in place where the bottom three teams in each division get relegated and three teams get promoted in their place. I think this is different to how American sports work and most who react to this video don't understand the concept.
