Is it possible to bind a different contoller from the stock receiver of this truck? The stock controller sucks.

Yeah you can. You will need one of those hobby grade transmitter that can bind and save a bunch of trucks with different receivers. Those transmitter are not cheap. Some are almost the same price as the rc car and that’s just the transmitter alone. You can also get a new radio system like the dumborc radio. They have them in 4ch all the way up to 6ch with built in gyro. It’s like $35 and you can get a bunch of receiver for as little as $9 each. That’s how I am running most of my truck with just 1 controller.

Check your receiver. Channel 1 plug should be the servo. Channel 2 plug should be throttle. In some case, the plug might be in backwards. Plug it out and turn it around and plug it back in then start the recalibrate step over again.

you can try using a program card device which should work with any receivers. If that don’t work, then you might have to get a new receiver. I would recommend having a bunch on hand since they are not that expensive. I usually buy 3 at once just to have as backup. 👍

Oh wait sorry the program card is only for programming the esc. For receivers, you will have to replace it of the the button no longer work. You can try to use a needle to push it but I would just replace it.

Push and hold the button on the receiver with the transmitter right next to it. It has to be close to each other.

Having an issue with my Dumbo X4 and X6 controller and receiver for the Cheetah. I get no steering or throttle response at all from neither. Tried binding them to there respective controllers but I can't tell if the receivers the problem or something further like an eye problem. I need some help.

Try recalibrating, I have a video on that. Your receiver should light up green when bind. Once that is bind you might have to redo the calibration all over again. It’s always like this when you introduce a new radio system or switch receivers to the esc. Hope this helps 👍

Hi.ı ve another problem.l turn on transmitter and then esc but l ve never heard that double beep on reciever as others .Car can works but not as powerful as before. I tried stock combo reciever and esc for testing motor. No problem. I checked any cable and plug but ı ve never heard transmitter and reciver matching 2 beep sound.l calibrate and reset reciver but nothing change. Do u ve any advice?

Make sure all your trim knob on the transmitter is turn all the way up to full 100% when you calibrate the esc. I’m not sure why your esc don’t beep but it should. Sounds like it starting to lose its juice and might have to be replaced.

My receiver has no light,it has less channels,it won’t bind like this..my esc shows a green light for half a second then just flashes red.I do get the 3 beeps...holding the button has done nothing..do all dumbo receivers light up?

It sounds like you need a new receiver. It’s super cheap and easy to replace. From what I know about dumbo rc radio systems is that all dumbo receivers have 6 channels and they light up. The only differences between the two is one have gyro (x6fg) and the other is non gyro (x6f) they both can be bind to both X4 and X6 transmitter or controller. I have the x4 controller non gyro.

Can somebody help me? I had issues with my transmitter, the steering wheel won't work at channel 1. But when i switched to channel 4, 5 & 6, the servo is functioning well. Thank in advance

If the servo works in other channels then most likely your receiver channel1 is burnt out. You can also try to recalibrate the ESC I have a video on that it’s in the playlist.

Yes the x6fg receiver will work with the x4 transmitter but you won’t have gyro cause the x4 is only 4 channel and you need the 5th or 6th knob on the controller to control gyro. My suggestion is to go with the x6 dumbo transmitter and receiver, this way you have 6 channels and gyro to play with. I got my dumbo x4 before the x6 version came out so now I’m looking to upgrade to the x6 model. But yeah the x6 receiver will work with an x4 transmitter. I’m using the x6f non gyro receiver for all my bashers. 👍

Hi! I have a problem. I have reverse steering which is not really a problem but still, I have no reverse most of the times and the lights are always on, so no response to the 3rd channel. What is that? Thnx

You might want to recalibrate the controller and ESC. The 3rd and 4th channel has to be reprogram on the controller to make it turn off. I’ll make a video later in the future showing how to program the dumbo rc radio.

@@ItsRCTeng So the lights should be able to turn off? I think the reverse does not work when the EPA isn't high enough. If it is above maybe 50% then I have to push the trigger fully once and only on the second push the reverse works. Is that normal? Thank you!

Yeah that’s normal to engage reverse with 2 push. Only on Crawlers they have instant reverse and auto drag brake. It’s usually brake before reverse so yeah that’s normal.

There’s a steering and throttle reverse switch. Switch the reverse for the steering and that should fix the issue.👍🍻

You mean x6fg? Yeah you can bind a x6 transmitter to a x6fg or even a x6f receiver. If your controller don’t have channel 5 or 6 nob, you won’t have gyro, but it should be still compatible with any dumbo rc controller. I’m running x6f non gyro on my x4 dumbo controller and it works fine.

Yeah the binding and normal function should work but setting up the lights function is something I have no clue on. But binding should work.

Is your controller and receiver the same brand? If you are using a different brand controller to bind with a dumbo receiver it will not work. Also, one thing people make mistakes on is plugging in the connection backwards. Unplug it and flip it around and plug it back in. Remember channel 1 is steering and channel 2 is throttle/esc. Give it a try and let me know.

Yeah it makes 45-48mph stock out of the box with the included 3s battery. It’s even faster when you up the c rating on the lipo. Durability is good enough for me to get another one so now I have both the gen1 and gen2 Cheetah. 👍🍻

Did you try checking the plugs on the receiver to make sure the plugs are in the right way. Sometimes people plug it in backwards by accident. Also, some brands of rc only works with their own brand of receiver and transmitter. Most after market esc will work with dumbo receiver and transmitter.

check channel 2 plug on the receiver and make sure its plugged right way. Try to bind it again from the beginning after checking the plug on channel 2. If you get steering and throttle after its bind, then its not a binding issue. You can also try recalibrating the esc. check my playlist for that video. Its an easy process that helps most of the time unless the plug from the esc to the receiver is burnt out or channel 2 on the receiver can be burnt out as well. Hope that helps.

Not all transmitter or receiver can bind together. You will have to get a receiver that is compatible with your controller. Or, if you have one of those super high tech controller that is like $500 then you can bind to almost any receiver and save it the memory of the controller.

Just buy a bunch of receiver that is made for your transmitter then bind them all to the controller. Now you will have 1 controller bind to as much receiver/car you want.

My dumbo radio is the X4 version. If you get the X6 it comes with a gyro built in to the receiver. The receiver is a x6fg. My receiver is x6f no G. It’s a good radio system and it will definitely make the Maximus handle even better. 👍

You can reprogram the channels on this controller to power up another unit like a battery or control multiple servos for at same time. The x6fg model controller have up to 6 channels to program. My controller is x4f model only has 4 channels

Hi 🤜🤛, I just purchased 'JLB Racing CHEETAH 120A' and I have a little problem, it doesn't brake when I hit backward, ....it only hardly slows down. For example if I set Throttle to 25%-50% backward it doesn't work at all. I did a default calibration for ESC (kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3mYnYSYg9Sle7c) but that didn't solve the problem, also I followed your tutorial (JLB Cheetah - How To Reprogram A HW SC8 RTR 120a ESC!!! Without Using a Program Card/Program device)I manually checked the settings and everything it's ok se it on default, and I change Maximum Brake Force to 75%, and still the same problem. From your experience this is a 100% ESC issue and need to be replaced, or it can also be related to 'Rc Receiver"? . 10X 🤝
