It's a totally new diner, they broke ground march of 2020. They tore the old one down. It's in one of the smallest towns in NJ, the Boro of East Newark. It's right across the river from the City of Newark, neighboring towns are Kearny and Harrison. They always give huge portions of food. They would hire police officers to work the door on weekends, to prevent problems when the bars would close in the area.

We went here when I was living in Newark, NJ. The Governor, Mayor, Police Directors all came here. It was good back in 2003. I am waiting to see what you think about it now! Amen

Love Tops Diner! It was renovated during the pandemic. They expanded and the wait is even longer now.

I have been there twice for the Dinner. The Burger and the braised Beef Pasta was awesome. Ohh the cookies are great. It is a Top experience that can blow my per diem very easy but the food is amazing. But I agree that is is not your typical diner, like the ones my mom worked in.

Even at any greasy spoon, especially on the weekends, you're going to have a wait . No wait or reservations needed at Tops during the week. Hell, at IHOP you can have a 45 minute wait on a Sunday morning😂. My point is Tops is worth the wait.

JL, I traveled all the way from CT to go to Topps last year. Well tbh, we were headed to NJ for a trip but I made reservations at Topps ahead of time. It's a must-try in northern NJ. I was at the old Topps Diner as a kid before they tore it down and built the new mecca of all diners. Totally worth the trip! Thanks for your videos, you do an amazing job with everything, stay hungry my friend.

My neighborhood! It has transitioned from a small diner back in the day (90’s) to an extravaganza, always great service and the food is usually excellent. It is my favorite by far! Great choice!

Fun fact: I drove a car for the first time in that parking lot, also the parking lot was empty!! Lol.. I used to go there for breakfast when I lived there, the memories!!! 😊 I can't believe how much it's changed!!! It used to be a regular a$$ diner, so fancy looking now!!

Such a shame Philly used to have such a thriving diner scene. Little Pete's,south street,a couple mid towns in center city and naturally the Melrose. We are down to Oregon, Penrose and Broad Street and I don't think any are 24/7 anymore. There are some good ones right over the WW bridge. Great job as always!!!

Try syrup on your eggs instead of ketchup. I am following TD on Instagram looking at there Menu there Fire Cracker Shrimp with the Egg Rolls Looks Phenomenal, I would put cream cheese on that cornbread but does it taste like Jiffy Cornbread ? Chicken Sausage for breakfast is Phenomenal

Tops is more like The After Party to us locals or Lunch Break to us overnight USPS workers. If you didn't get a phone # at the club, you'd have a 2nd chance at Tops.🤔😂

Tops is pretty good in terms of diner. but I prefer my diner more traditional and retro. The prices here are also significantly higher than a traditional diner($40 per person) as well though you do get large portion sizes

I’ve been there a couple of times and the food is amazing. Traditional diners are 🦕 s. We don’t see as many as before. TOPS is definitely nice, but you don’t have to necessarily dress up.
