Brooklyn's Peter Luger Steak House was once regarded as hands down the best steak in NYC, if not the entire world! While not the oldest steakhouse in NYC, it is one of the oldest, and staff who have left to open their own restaurants have had tremendous success. Wolfgang's Steakhouse and Benjamin's Steakhouse were both opened by former Peter Luger employees and both are among the best steakhouses in NYC, having been trained well at Peter Luger.
In recent years, Peter Luger has begun receiving much criticism over the inconsistency of their food. Pete Wells' Peter Luger NY Times review was a devastating 0.8/4.0, as he famously said there is not much reason to eat there anymore. In 2022, Peter Luger lost its Michelin star after holding one star every year since 2006. Criticism of Peter Luger's food as being inconsistent was persistent for much of the past 10 years. This channel was even put on the map due to a viral review of Peter Luger! The UA Eats Peter Luger video featured me, as always, providing an honest review of the restaurant. I liked the burger then, but I found the steak lacking and many people agreed with me in the comments.
Still, I have always been itching to try Peter Luger again. I felt bad leaving the review the way it was. Restaurants after all are not static organizations, and they can change after all. I may have had a mediocre experience, but I am always willing to give places second chances. Recently, reviews of Peter Luger have again been very positive. Most people have been leaving 4-5 stars on Google reviews, so I decided to head down to Brooklyn and try Peter Luger again. Perhaps they have righted the ship and are again one of the best steaks in New York City again!
I hope you enjoy the vid and as always, like and subscribe if you like my vids!
