Let see if those trick in Maya have similar version in Blender or not (So if we need blender version then here is it): + For 'selection constraints' (at 1:27), I think Blender have similar in selection menu here ? (even if not exactly, still close enough) + For 'reset or rotate model back to world orientation' (at 1:55), I guess it a bit different in Blender but it do have way to fix the problem (one of them may have to do with 3D cursor, Snap or similar ?) + For 'Selective History Delete' (at 3:41), I may hadn't check deep enough in Blender, but this whole 'history' thing seem to only Maya have so it indeed quite powerful + On 'Redo Last' (at 4:42), it Shift + R (if you can't find it then hit F3 and search the command, that one of Blender great tool since the F3 search help you find any command you need without have to remember hotkey or UI of Blender there even if newer version change it position a bit). But Blender seem to only redo recent command rather than be flexible with 'redo last menu' Maya have, so it indeed flexible + For 'Chamfer Vertex' (at 6:08), it a neat tricks which I'm not sure Blender have or not, but I'm sure they have add-on for Hard modeling with this feature there. At least blender have 'Grid Fill' at the base to prevent 'Polar' problem for circle topology + For 'Vert snap axis contraints' (at 7:07), Blender do have that and more (by turn on Snaping after you select vertex options, then hit G to move > hit either x, y or z to move along that direction, you can even double hit 'x' or similar to make it move along it local axis instead of global axis, or hit Shift Z to exclude Z axis so your model will only move in x and y there) + For 'Select continuous edges' (at 8:28), I think MeshMachine or Hard Ops add-on has special loop select modes. In default Blender, you can select an edge, then Ctrl-click another edge to select all the edges between them, but that's it. You need perfect quad topology to select a loop with alt-click or double-click. + For 'Vertex Face' (at 9:11), not sure if Blender have it or not, but likely not (at least we can just 'merge by distance' to remove any extra quickly without need to check as much unless your model have vertex part very near each other, even then we can change the distance limit). Or other workaround with 'face inside face' is turn on shade smooth or 'Show Normals' to reveal it messy look there + For 'Detach components' (at 10:39), I have a bit of brainfart on this part, but after google a bit I guess it 'V - Rip operator' for the same role ? Blender also have bridge and 'grid fill', too + For 'Extrude with transforms' (at 12:43), good one. I think blender also have that but maybe need extra step or two ? So less time efficiency (but for newbie it isn't important factor) + For '3D modeling with UVs', I think blender do have that feature but maybe do in different way, may need other explain this part though since it been a while for me to remember detail + For 'Search and replace' (at 16:26), Blender do have it. I tihnk it name 'Batch Rename' or similar That it, look like we can apply most of them for Blender, too!

also a quick workflow for cylinder caps. Select the center vertex, convert selection to edges, connect components and you have a nice edgeloop.

I started using Maya about 10 years ago in Highschool and really enjoyed it. Long story short after some life events I ended up not really using it for a long time and have just started picking it up again to hopefully get into the 3D modeling field. What would you recommend in terms of things that would be good to help learn everything again? Any specific books, tutorials, and that sorta thing you or anyone else here recommends?

Recently I had my worst issue. It would crash every single time I tried to open my robot file, it was able to be opened on my friends computer but not Mine, I deleted the preferences but that just added essentially a five minute timer before it crashed, I eventually exported it as an FBX with cleared history, cleared my prefs and imported that FBX into a new file and it ended up working, but the most annoying issue I’ve had to date

I said that 3ds Max is way way better than Maya for modelling, in fact, Maya is one of the weakest programs for modelling, even Blender is better, I started learning 3ds recently and no way I'm coming back to Maya and its destructive workflow

Thanks for the video, but please tell me, I often hear that experienced 3d modelers create paid and free courses to teach other people. But if you have experience, why don't you work in your profession, for example in the game industry, or in 3d stock and so on. It turns out that training brings more money, or training is needed only as an additional income. But teaching is also a labor-intensive business? Also by training other people, you create potential competitors. What's the catch. P.S. Perhaps the question is strange, I do not want to offend anyone, I just worry about this issue.

Back at it again he is! Don't suppose you will be doing a Maya --> Blender tut one day? Learning Blender from the ground up is painful as everyone is like "these 4 verts you see. That makes a piece of topology. topology is yap yap yap" If there was 1 solid dude out there, that did a simple "experienced in 3D autodesk packaged and wanna change to Blender swiftly. Watch this O:" They would be a real king for that (hint hint haha)
