Is buying a Cold Air Intake and Tune for your car REALLY that good? Is it worth it? Today I try to help answer that question by reviewing my own experience with the kit, 4 months after installation.

Those were my 1st mod as well, jlt intake and sct/x4 tuner with 93 octane as well, and boy did that made a difference. Then I jumped to the ford performance 3.73 gears and that also made a huge difference. Hoping to see more mods on your mustang.

Awesome video bro you were thoroughly detailed on it, my comment made it in a video too lg lol but yeah bama tunes are alright when first getting into tuning & modifying, eventually i would recommend getting a tune from the 3v whisperer himself lito or a dyno tune as they can data log the car & fine tune the car to its maximum performance potential 😎

Due to the price of gas, I now run the 87 tune using 89 octane for fuel. I have run the 93 tune and was very pleased with it, but since my Mustang is mostly a daily driver, the switch to the 87 tune made much more sense (we don't have 91 oct in this region). Even with the lower octane tune, coupled with the CAI and UDP's, the Bullitt shows strong performance for a basically stock 4.6, according to my butt dyno. I don't get the benefits from the improved shift points since mine is a standard shift, and I'm sure that adds to the driving experience. See you got a little scratch going into 2nd.! I Hate I don't do Instagram. BTW, another great vid from ya'. Keep it up, Bradda.

100% facts lol, I would have detuned my car to 89 if I could've. I currently don't have an 89 Octane tune but with the free Bama tunes for life I think we can just ask them to write one up possibly (or in their case most likely copy/paste it to us lol). I actually don't know the answer to this though, do the early S197 Bullitts make more power than the regular GTs for these years? Like how the modern Bullitt makes 480hp compared to the GTs 460hp? If I had to buy my Mustang all over again though, I think I would have gone with a Bullitt myself tbh. I remember seeing one in pristine condition for sale when I was shopping for my own. Boy was I close to pulling the trigger on it hahaha. But yea, the crisp and aggressive shift points from the tune is one of the few redeeming factors about having the auto :') And damn that sucks.. I thought in this day and age that maybe all my viewers had instagram, so I thought it would make sense to host the giveaway soleley over there. That's my bad. Hopefully I'll be able to do more in the future though, and those will definitely be hosted across all platforms. Thanks as always for watching and enjoying the video brother. 👊

@@OctaneStreet The 08 & 09 Bullitts are supposed to make about 15hp more. 315hp in Bullitts & 300 in GT's, so about the same difference as the new ones. As with all engines it varies. I've seen stock Bullitts make 300rwhp and GT's make 292rwhp and that means about the same hp at the crank, though the average is usually way less for both. BTW, Bullitts come with a 3:73 rear gear standard and GT 3:31. But there are tons of GT's that were ordered the auto & 3:55. From the way you say your accelerates I believe you got a set of the stiffer gears. See if you can get a Marti Report on your GT. It's worth it.

Hey great content! Bought a 2007 convertible stick shift last year with 152000km and I'm also following that path for the mods. Did the JLT3 CAI + Bama Tunes, changed the gears from 3.55 to FR 4.10, lowered the car, changed sway bars and panhard bar, FR Aluminium Driveshaft, added 10in mags with Mickey Thompson P285/40/18 on the rear, and now receiving this week FR Intake + FR Throttle Body and FR Hot Rod Cams, project for this winter. The CAI with the tune is really the most bang for the buck you can get and this will follow most of the mods after. Again great content and keep going!

Wow, loving the mods you've done to yours. How big of a difference was it when you installed that FR Alu. DS? I hear amazing things about it, and i'm deciding between driveshaft shop's and FR's one piece DS. I have coilovers, panhard, sway, rear links and control arms, new powerstop brakes all around and a few more things already waiting to be installed next spring! It's gunna be sick. You did cams before a full exhaust though?
@FullTimeGT
@FullTimeGT 2 жыл бұрын
@@OctaneStreet Hehe tks! You too have done quite a lot I can see and I love you mods too! For the FR Alu DS the change was less vibration and more responsive, you can feel the weight difference parasite before/after. I do recommend that mod. Doesn't add a lot of power, I did not dyno it before that mod, but every little things adds up a give better numbers. My Dyno as of now is 281hp and 292ft/lb torque. To come : The Cams, to arrive this week Intake and Throttle Body, next week the Cams, all from AM. In December I will order the BBK LT Ceramic Headers with X-pipes. Also I already have in stock since last spring SR Under Drive Pulleys. I'm not installing my stuff now, this is my winter project (doing myself), I will do all in one shot and will take my time. The idea is to have 320-330hp to the wheels, and from there I will decide if I go further with a Blower or not, I want to keep the driveability of the Stang. Specs now on the track are in high 13s (13.7s best time and 104.4mph) in the best case. Most of the time low 14s (unprepped surface). I want to go into the 12s, as much as possible NA. If not possible, then I will decide about adding a blower or not...

@@FullTimeGT Damn you got me all excited for your build as if it's my own car lmao. Thanks for the feedback on the Alu DS, mine makes a humming/whirring sound when my car is at speeds of about 132km/h so it's due for a replacement anyway. No better time to replace it since I'll be installing BBK Ceramic LTH + X Pipe as well! Speaking of the BBK LTH's though, did you have a hard time choosing which LTH you were going to rock with? Personally I wanted the Pypes LTH with H Pipe, but I got an open box set of BBK's for a good price on AM so decided to go that route instead. When it comes to the UD Pulleys, I'm not TOO knowledgeable on them but iirc it adds a bit of power to your car (mostly torque?) but also makes your A/C unusable or something like that right? Kudos to you though for planning to do this all on your ones. If only I lived nearby I'd love to come out and lend a hand or observe you do the work sometimes. Lastly, it's good to have some baseline set of numbers that I can roughly aim for when I hit the strip. I plan to take it next year for the first time, pretty excited. Would you ever consider Coyote swapping instead of adding a blower though? Just curious!

Hello from Ukraine! Thanks for the video, it was very informative. From Your experience with BAMA, would You recommend them for just slightly modified car? I have 2009 GT automatic with Airaid CAI, gutted stock H-pipe (no CATs) and JBA axle-backs, and i'm considering to buy BAMA's tuner from AM. How do You think, could they provide me a custom tune for higher octane gas than 93, like RON 100? I wrote them a question but didn't get any response.
@OctaneStreet
@OctaneStreet Жыл бұрын
Hey! I hope you and your loved ones are doing okay in that part of the world. I can't lie and say I'm well aware of what's happening but nonetheless I wish you guys well. BAMA is pretty good for slightly modified vehicles, and to my knowledge they can definitely give you a tune that works with RON100; however I would wait for their response first (or read the FAQ on their website) to be 100% certain. The cool thing is that you get free tunes for life, so if you ever change parts on your car or add more power, etc. They can rewrite a tune for your car and upload it electronically which is dope. And if you have any issues you can send them the data log and they can fix the issues. It's honestly a great tuner, easy to use, looks pretty sleek, plus the free tunes makes it a dope option in my opinion. If you have any other questions of what it might be like from a buyer/owner experience feel free to ask! However, for more technical questions those would probably be best to reach out to BAMA themselves so you can get certain clarity.
