Lots of options and recommendations on what actually works best. Like the recommendation of the X Brace in the trunk does more for rigidity even thought the X brace in the cab "looks" cooler.

I'm about to pick up an '08 GT Deluxe, and I couldn't be more excited! Sure, it doesn't pack a lot of HP by today's standards, but I am a big fan of the S197's. To me, they're the perfect body style and perfect for cruising. Whether you have a 3V or the Coyote, they sound glorious!

I had a 2014. I did not lower it for better handling. I went with frame rail and torque box braces first. Then strut tower brace, then g Trac brace. Then lower control arms. Finally front and rear sway bars. That combo stiffened up handling tremendously. It cornered so much better and still running stock wheels and tires and stock springs stock struts and shocks.

I’m surprised you did not mention a front and rear sway bar upgrade. I did not lower my 06 but I upgraded the sway bars and it made a significant improvement in the handling, making the car not plow through the turns and making it stay flat in the turns.

⁠@@keithbellair9508not at all. It feels solid, like a new car. The car was just shy of 100,000 miles when I did it. I’m not a fan of how the 05-09 looks lowered. I think because the car is a bit bulky it don’t look right to me when lowered. So I asked a fella who modified his car for track use what I could do to improve the handling and he said Eibach sway bars would make a huge difference. I researched those and came to learn the blue ones from Ford Performance are the Eibach bars painted blue instead of red so I went with those. The Ford performance ones were like $150 cheaper too for the exact same kit with all the bushings and links. I run 275 tires on the back and 255s on the front and I have a Ford Racing strut tower brace (the Bullitt style one). A few months after doing the sway bar upgrade I replaced the rear shocks with B6 ones from Bilstein and those made the car even better. And with the rear shock replacement came another unexpected improvement. My car had always seemed to have a slight rear end hum on the highway and when I put the Bilstein shocks on, it totally eliminated that noise. I believe with the old shocks there was perhaps some axle misalignment that was affecting the positioning of the differential that was causing it to hum. That’s the only explanation I can think of for why the new shocks would have made that noise go away.

I have a 2007 GT, with 130,000 miles, basically a new car still even though it's 18 years old. Well built car. Tremec gear box is great. I kept it fairly stock as they are difficult to improve, Ford nailed this one. Exhaust system with long tube headers, x-pipe and lack of mufflers makes this Mustang sound like the GT390 from the 1968 Bullitt movie. My opinion it this is a great deal improved from my last Mustang which was the esteemed SN95 2001 Bullitt. True American muscle cars.

Its actually a one way clutch on the alternator. keeps the rotating assembly from being yanked down hard on shifts. Otherwise it does not release on acceleration as you described here. Good vid tho.

I liked this car from the start as it had a lot of mods all ready. Cam, exhaust, lowered, 18" 10" wide rears, 8" fronts and a complete set of Konni shocks. Next winter I am going to install my 18" X 13" wide rims with 335/30/18 Michelin Pilot sports. Then 18" X 12" wide fronts with 12 7/8 " discs X 1 1/2" wide and a set of4 piston calipers 🙃Now looking for a set of 305/30/18 Pilot sports. Rear discs are 12 1/2" by 1 3/16 and 4 piston discs. Need to figure out caliper info to get the proper master cylinder to operate it all. Of course I will need to build some WIDE flares 🤑 still able to penny pinch. To round off my winter stuff another gas tank about 20 to 30 gallons for those long trips.😁

I really liked all the information you put out, but there's just one thing - why are people so determined to identify the Mustang as a sports car? Technically speaking, it's a pony/muscle car and what's wrong with that? I remember many tuners from 15 to 20 years ago that built upon the existing S197 platform that essentially just maximized the muscle car foundations it was designed to be, hence a solid rear axle and no IRS. The S197 was not intended to be an evolution or extension of the previous generations Cobra or Mach 1 chassis, but rather a true modern day interpretation of the original muscle car concept. There were tuners out there that had S197s pulling 1.5 G's in the turns and over 500 horsepower on stock internals. The OEM crank was good for about 600 horsepower, but the rods weren't. My point is that even with older technology, it was proven that modern-day muscle cars were every bit as capable as sports cars with a few mods added to the existing platform and there was no need to turn the Mustang into a sports car. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the modern day Mustang being a bona fide sports car today, those vehicles are amazing, even if the build quality isn't what it could be, but aftermarket tuners like Steeda go a long way in helping us to overcome those deficiencies. Some of us like the old school roots and some of us will always prefer that to the greatest new thing out there, though that's hard to do with offerings like Steedas Bullitt versions of the 6th gens and the 2022 Shelby GT5000KR.

I have a convertible 06 gt supercharged 410 gears . And put all your rear suspension upper lower control arms plus ultra lite springs.AND nitto 555 drag tires , only at 504 rear wheel hp AND 416 tq . I thought the upper control arm AND bracket would fix my wheel hop from 2 to 3 not as bad as before but still hopping lol. Do you think I should change to the convertible springs for the added wight . Also what do think of QA shocks to help . Single adjustment or double adjustment or any other suggestions . Ps for the first 60k on the car with no add weight just ultra light springs AND stock shocks car was very nice ridding . Added weight And pro action shocks rides very bumpy. Hi Buddy, Looking for input on upgrading the clutch and flywheel for my 2014 3.7L. I am despise my dual-mass flywheel (which vibrates considerably at 2000 RPM), so I'm going with a solid flywheel. I'm leaning towards steel as I don't really race it often (maybe some autocross occasionally) and I feel like an aluminum flywheel might be a little too light for street use. Any thoughts from folks that have made the change?

The 11-14 Mustangs have a Z-Brace and belly pan that require some extra mounting points. You could use one from an 05-10, but you won't be able to reinstall that Z-brace. The way boost works as in turbos and centrifugal superchargers is that it makes the engine run what is called positive air pressure and richer oxygen which therefore leads to less gas consumption and better gas mileage for more power
