Roger Daltry is considered the second greatest rock vocalist only behind Robert Plant in a 1980 survey. Songs like this cemented his place in Classic Rock Royalty.... along with the other members of this iconic band.

I wouldn't say 2nd greatest but one of the greatest as very few can cover and due justice to who song. Eddie Vedder tries singing who songs but it just makes me cringe. Roger still has the voice. Recently plant joined Roger to sing onstage.

I don't know. As much as I love Plant and Led Zepplin, I think if you take the top 5 or so lead singers of the era, my favorite would end up being whoever I happen to be listening to at that moment.😁 I grew up in such a fantastic era of music. 🎸
@msfoodiediva7 ай бұрын
@@skygazer858 Roger always sang with emotion but took care of his voice and his body. He still had pretty much the same body well into his 60s and put his half his age to shame. My favorite zep songs are babe I'm leavin you and hey hey what can I do

I’ve known this song always but I still felt those drums at the beginning right in my heartbeat.❤ I want to say it was a kettle drum but all I know about drums is Neil Peart. 🪘 Didn’t all the CSI TV shows use a clip from Who songs? I really love You Better You Bet. MTV came out when I was 13 when it premiered. It was mostly all music and VJ and prior to huge country and rap breakthroughs for the general population. Gen X is the original TV generation lol. If you haven’t checked out subdivisions from rush I highly recommend it. The song spoke me and it was my first introduction to Rush and they even made an official video for it. I think it was the first time I ever listened to a song and saw myself in it. I believe that was a year or two later but I have been a Rush fan since the early 80s also. We had a great rock station in Providence WHJY. They played all the best and only interrupted you a couple times an hour. Also their DJs weren’t annoying little poops.

Leather Lungs Daltrey with a vocal performance for the ages! BTW, "Love Reign O'er Me" (LROM) is the final song on the Who's concept album "Quadrophenia". On the 3 songs just prior to LROM, the main character - Jimmy - is contemplating suicide, and he came very close to succeeding. Then he had an epiphany as the waves started washing over a rock near the seashore he was sitting on - waiting for them to carry him away to his death, when suddenly, love reigned over him. And it saved his life.

Beautiful insights here ...indeed Jesus gives the Water of Life that forever quenches the thirst for eternity (John 4:10-14 ) . Little children can easily understand and believe in Him for that Living Water , instantly having irrevocable Life at that moment ...no better news , ever .

I'm always amazed how people who make lyrics videos can't get the lyrics right. All they have to do is look up the lyrics. The lyric "Like the sweat of love birds laying in the fields", instead of the correct line "Like the sweat of lovers laying in the fields" is just ridiculous.
