8:40 it's probably like Cammy...where, because of scaling, your optimal combo routes from drive rush are different if you're doing 1 DR or 2. So the heavy kick from DR is probably only good if it's a single DR combo. If you're dumping meter for a kill, you probahly want a combo without HK to reduce scaling.

Around release I remember talk about how multihits advance scaling being different in this title. I never went further than mashing with the bros in older sf games to know exactly, but I definitely remember gelatin labs or somebody doing an explainer on it

Done characters have normals that basically special cancel into each other. Akumas first trial is one, MK > HK is a target combo. You cancel the MK into the HK, you don't link it like you do most things The best way to think of it is like gatlings from most anime games, just way more restrictive and character specific

Akuma clearly has no problem with that. Just look at the startup frames on his flame punch special. No bubble gut. In fact, it's a nice inward curve. I don't know how me pointing out that you're wrong is me being "offended". You're not projecting, I hope? You would have a case if it was Oni, but not SF6 Akuma.

I know a lot of people always say the new character is broken. But Akuma is definitely broken. He has no weaknesses outside of a little lower health. He does a ridiculous amount of damage without even relying on drive meter. I think I need to wait until season 3. It's actually cartoonish. We are now in paid to win territory.
