Today we're doing a fun exercise - I got a professional Smash player and commentator to try building an Ultra Street Fighter 4 tier list! Will he be able to guess how strong USF4 characters like Chun Li, Elena, El Fuerte, and Dee Jay are?? Let's find out!

She was broke af when she came out. Now she's just very strong. Not top 5 but def top 7-8. Evil ryu/Akuma/Yun/Seth/cammy/decapre/poison (last 3 are arguable depending on who you talk to) are just so much better.

She was mid tier in SF 3 so they made her a bit better in SF 4 but the Ultra system made her sort of broken

I remember that Top 8 actually being pretty hype. But, it had more to do with knowing and liking the players who made top 8. So, even if Elena matches can be slow they can also be very tense. Especially in EVO top 8. GF was kind of lacking that year, but I remember the rest of top 8 (or at least top 4) was pretty sweet. Also, I remembered people hating Rolento WAY more back then. The Infiltration vs Gamerbee set (Loser's semi-finals or Loser's finals?), had Infiltration hover over Rolento during a character change and people booed. I believe he said it made him not choose Rolento. But, it was still funny and hype cause after hovering over Rolento the camera cut to Infil laughing and Gamerbee shaking his head at him.

I'd say the best videos to watch, if you're not into fighting games, are his combo trial videos, tournament match analysis videos, and his top "blank" videos. Really the videos where he just talks and goes into detail about the subject. He also does some trivia FGC game shows.

You should do it the other way around, you guess a smash bros teir list. Maybe for a game like smash 4 bc it’s teir list isn’t well know (well bayo and cloud are known) but the rest of its tier list is unique.

I think any Smash game would be interesting. I don't think crofts has played much Smash at all of any kind. Ultimate is a huge game and there's no way Crofts would know everything.

I mained Dee Jay in USF4 (got to B Rank) and between him being a charge character and having that crouch medium 1 frame link, I did consider even right to if not worse than Dan. Don't get me wrong, DJ had a lot of cool stuff (Super cancels into Ultra 1 for high damage or insane chip, machine gun upper into dash/walk Ultra 2) but his core gameplay was just not as good as other characters. I love that character though and would love to see him make a strong return.

I can already picture Coney doing the reverse. So this is little Mac, here are the pros: tied with Zero Suit Samus he had the fastest jab in the game at frame 1, all off his smash attacks have super armor, his run speed and ground moves are really good, and if he takes or deals enough damage he gets a unblockable move that kills stupidly early. His main weakness is that his aerial moves aren’t that good.
