Learning curve is steep but very rewarding, let your muscles adapt and get stronger and progress will come! The first time I pumped halfway proper felt amazing :D Could you guys do a powerslide tutorial, I found myself in situations where normal slowing down was always a bit too risky and I had to walk or jump off my skates.. Big ups JMK!

if you just started freeskating, and get your first roll alongs in your regular stance, give switch a little go. It will will feel horrible, but it will help with riding regular (it will will feel so much easier once you tried switch), and it will help a lot in the later stages with other tricks you may need a wall / fence to push along switch, it's hard and totally strange in the beginning - and you don't have to over do it, just give your feet and brain a little teaser whats to come my biggest problem at the start was my weak foot (left in my case, backfoot) - I learned to ride switch way too late, my dominant foot became better and better at freeskating in the first few days/weeks, whilst my left foot just was there for the ride...which made learning to ride switch so much harder in the end - the earlier your weak foot catches up to your strong one, the earlier you will ride switch, and thats where all the fun really begins! keep them detailed tutorials coming, they really will help !

@Fire64 жыл бұрын
With a bit of pratice you will not have this problem.. Freeskating is not that dangerous when you learn how to ride, but wearing gear is better!
@jmkride4 жыл бұрын
To pump, you rotate your feet and split your legs apart. To turn, you rotate your feet and keep them behind each other, so that the back foot follows directly behind the front foot (Jeff talks about this in the video). FireSix is right, just make sure you're wearing proper protective gear! Especially under adult supervision, you'll be just fine 👍

Hey mate. I'm more into unicycling but I sometimes used skating to spice things up and help develop other muscles,etc. Regular skateboards and long boards werent cutting it for me, in terms of challenging my balance. So I discovered the shark attack board and the ripsurf. Those two were great and love them. Then I spotted these and was like, this has to be more challenging. I picked up a generic cheap pair from Amazon. Tried them for first time yesterday and I did get it down the mounting technique and really love the challenge on these. Truly love them. The simplicity of being so light way, can put them in my back pockets and pull 'em out randomly and cruise is an awesome thing man. Question, I checked your page out. Are the ones you guys make really better quality, interms of bearings also, than a cheap version from Amazon? I wouldnt mind at all shelling the money you charge for them because they look legit on your page. Thanks for being into this and manufacturing these brother!
@citrus_sweet Жыл бұрын
Absolutely buy theirs over the Amazon ones. I started off on the knock offs (like a lot of other freeliners) before switching and it's decent for building the necessary muscles before actually getting into the legitimate JMKs but the knockoffs are awful for technique (square wheels makes it harder) or speed (they have worse bearings). You'll immediately feel the difference and it's definitely an investment you won't regret.
@charliemcskitt52 жыл бұрын
I wanted to mention that the goofy abs regular things are reversed, goofy skaters have their power foot in the back, while regular skaters have their right skate in the back, how you would stand on a rip-stick applys here
@jmkride2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by power foot, but on freeskates, both feet are powering the motion equally! Just as on a skateboard, regular means your left foot is in front, while goofy means your right foot is in front 👍

I just got my freeskates yesterday. I've only been able to practice in my living room because it's been raining the past two days and I've been trying to get myself going by pushing off a wall and trying to get the pumping motion. Is it common for your back foot to want to do all the "pumping"? I can't seem to get my front foot going in that S motion as easily
@jmkride2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathy! Yes, that’s totally normal. One thing you could try is solely using your front skate and scooting around your living room with little hops. While you’re doing this, try rotating your foot left and right to turn yourself. I’ll also say, props to you for getting right into it even though it’s raining! Once you have a nice decline it should be a lot easier to focus on the motion. Hope this helps!
