I definitely have built up in my head "what love should look like" in my life. What this eventual partner will look and act like, and add to my life- but weirdly for the first time, I feel I've gotten to experience a glimpse of what it's like to "let love come your way" without the expectation of who it comes from. Could literally be from anyone, I just have to do what I can to be ready to accept it.

I recently got rejected by a girl based on this construction of who I thought she could be for me instead of waiting to find out who she really is and found that FOMO was defs a big part of it. The rational mind totally hits the floor when you’re romanticising something that deserves more time. Great vid!

Hey! I just think you explained the idea of modern love and how having all these visions about yourself in your head impacts your standards and then met with...existentialism essentially. I've never really see someone address it yet its so relatable
@Ladybird-rw4fv2 ай бұрын
existentialism?
@aleeza.1222 ай бұрын
@@Ladybird-rw4fv rewatching this i realised it could be just me lol... but I think he calls out surface level endeavours vs authenticity among other complexities of desire quite a bit. In arguing that true love requires recognizing both one’s own and one’s partner's autonomy, his perspective does parallel with existentialism -which posits that individuals must take responsibility for their choices in relationships, navigate the inherent "risks" and the fluid nature of connections and understanding of intimacy beyond mere possession or idealization as such :)

not to ignore the topic of discussion but I love your cinematography and editing. I can't think of the right words to describe it, it's simply pleasant to look at. Also, 100% agree with your rant. I'm working on a project discussing the complexities of love and its subjectiveness and your insights are so refreshing. Would love to see more!

you summarized all my thoughts in one video. romantic relationships are so hard for me to grasp as a concept. i feel like it's this really grand thing that i have to wait for the perfect moment after bettering my life so i can finally have it when that's not even the case. i want it, i'd definitely feel missed out if i don't get to experience it at least once in this lifetime, i'm actually envious of people who have it even though i just keep hiding that feeling behind the waiting-for-myself-to-get-even-better mindset. It made me realize what'ss so wrong about letting people in now and let them help me achieve my dreams? what's wrong about them seeing me struggle to be who i want? if they're really the one they'd just love me all the same

But it's so hard. How can I give myself to someone without losing myself? I am afraid of falling in love again. It's so exausting. I want peace. I want calm. Can love be calm? Each time I meet someone I become terrified. I am terrified of them seeing me as I am, fragile and broken besides all that I am. What if I first accept that? Then it will stop being so terrifying. But then I feel I am losing all these opportunities. And do I even find them that interesting?
