This series of brilliant talks should serve to be a real eye-opener for all. As a first step, we should be telling all our friends and acquaintances to watch these discussions to increase their awareness. For all, and especially for those living in the US, we need to fight this concerted effort to undermine Sanskrit and Sanskriti. What is at stake here is our children's lives and their children's lives if we let the Pollocks and Donigers of the world get their way with what they are doing to our culture and heritage. Shame on Narayan Moorthi and shame on our Government for funding our own demise. I expected better from PM Modi. Infosys employees, please wake up and more importantly, wake up your leader!

Awesome discussion. To my fellow brothers & sisters, I would also recommend the book, The True History and the Religion of India, by Swami Prakashanand Saraswati, wherein he details with lucidity the history of Sanskrit and other languages, Bharatvarsh, and the effects of colonialism on them. He does so with ample scientific evidence.

I have heard quite a few verbal rebuttals of western indologists' position on various Hindu texts. I am assuming that we have also published these rebuttals. But, since most of the Indology literature comes out in Western journals, where the gate keepers are people like Wendy Doniger and Sheldon Pollock, it would be reasonable to assume that they would not allow dissenting papers to be published. We need to create Indian Indic studies journals that present the Dharmic point of view on contentious issues raised by Western scholars. However, there has to be a sophistication of approach and methodology that is beyond reproach. Shri RM has led the field in defining that approach in dealing with the Western Indologists. Now, it is up to all our Sanskrit Scholars such as Dr Rao to do serious Purva Paksh, followed by Uttar paksh and carry on this ideological battle aimed at weakening the foundations of Sanatana Dharma

Only because they are not ' fashionable' in the American way, the common public is not interested . I'm truly grateful that , sir , you are 'fashionable' the American way, and learned and committed to studying all the wrongs against us , Indians , and playing a HUGE role in making us Indians aware of our heritage.🙏🙏🙏🙏. Thank you very much sir , for making us aware of the amount of hate which exists among the 'outsiders' against India and Indians. Buddhists murdered sankhya darshana of hinduism by saying that there is no individual self or atman and the world does not exist. It is idealism. But sankhya darshana says that observed (matter) cannot be perceived without the observer (atman). World is very much real. Sankhya darshana was validated by double slit quantum experiment. By the way the sanksrit term darshana is vision or revelation of nature of ultimate in the higher levels of consciousness of hindu/vedic maharishis. This is the reason why one cannot alter sruti. But buddhists to look different from vedas gave a twist which led to their downfall or until colonial forces tried to revive it to pit it against hinduism. Fake king Ashoka was invented in that process to show that he converted from bad hinduism to good buddhism. Ambedkar tried his level best but unfortunately he never understood that world's oldest culture (hinduism) cannot be fooled by saying vedas is bullshit or by publishing books like riddles in hinduism To marxists like pollock mantras are some mumbo jumbo bullshit. But when Rig veda's sanskrit hymns and mantras are recited they generate vibratory frequencies similar to vibratory frequencies of sub-atomic particles.(bosons and fermions). Rig Veda has the complete blueprint of the universe. Honest quantum physicists acknowledge that vedas are way more advanced than so called modern science which still apes newtonian classical physics. How can panini talk about "greeks"? Obviously a colonial fabrication to legitimize their fake date for panini (4th century)i. Ramayana (6000 BC) happened before mahabharatha (4000 BC). There are characters common to both epics. Panini's date is somewhere between 6000 BC to 4000 BC. Colonialists just post dated everything to fit their short christian timeline (4004 BC at 9 am this universe was created while modern science and hinduism says that the age of the universe is 14 billion years ) Sanskrit is a divine language and it is ageless. It is the language of vibrations, without which this universe cannot exist. Pancha maha bootha's first element akasha or ether or zero point field from which the whole diverse universe originates is made of sanskrit or shabda (sound). Rig veda has them in the form of mantras and hymns. Shaivite and vaishnavite division was also a creation of colonial forces to divide and rule hindus One mistake we do is to pass off distortions as diverse views. This is dangerous

+kashsoldier Well said... One small but major correction that needs to be done to the understanding of the time line... finally we have come to a point of questioning the colonial timeline but that is not enough... there are evidences to show that the Krishna's kingdom should have gone under the sea some 11K+ years before that is during the end of ice age in Europe and America... And there are evidences to show that some tribes of Africa talk Tamil that means there was civilization in the southern India much before the continents split.... If the Government revisits that History study we might be able to come out with a more detailed History of this Nation and of Sanskrit... This Civilization is many thousand years older than what we believe now....

prince siddharth was just a very disturbed young man who needed psychotherapy which his close social circle did not provide ... his first attempts to get answers to manifest questions he had had (as contrasted to Freudian subconscious *latent* questions) were very awkward (we cannot of course KNOW this but just surmise it from bio and autobio -graphical info about him ... like Koenraad says meditation doing person his hardly a social revolutionary ... Koenraad could not KNOW it but it is a surmise ... yes his ideas may have been put to such uses or at any rate used to challenge orthodoxy of the time but then all kinds of people were doing that ... charvaks and jains were doing that already) ... prince's awkwardness stemmed from fact that he was prince ... for example, he joins a guru to learn but then starts arguments with guru ... how guru will react? ... guru will say go away you cocky little rascal, are you here to learn or teach ... that is not to say that ALL gurus would have been impatient with the argumentative prince ... some would have listened to him and sensed his impatience and tried to figure out what mental disturbance caused it and tried to guide him but the fact is in the end he chose the path of meditative way which he may have come to know either while still in palace or in somebody's ashram ... so the argument that there is continuity in innovation in thought about life is correct ... if siddharth had met a charvak he would have perhaps become greatest scientist of his time and trajectory of future of nations affected by his work would have made those areas different ... fact is buddhism was no innovation of revolutionary proportion ... it was just one of many heterodoxies the area supported ... fact is charvak's knowledge was completely destroyed so much so that no extant writing of brihaspati remains ... ideationally only charvaks could revolutionize india ... politically they were still ahead of their times as were epicurus and lucretius of greece from which area alexander visited us but he did not bring along knowledge of them (instead alexander's head was filled with the idea of becoming world king) ... talking about present times: we have three monotheistic religions of which latest addition (edition too) begs to differ with the other two and we are still struggling with the stupid idea of building a world government without first solving the problem of how three inte-related monotheisms cannot agree that their respective deities MUST be one and same if they are to be truly monotheistic ... hindus and their foibles will come much later ... much more later comes the hindus' conciliatory argument that if there is only one supreme deity then that must be Paramatma about which Rigved 10.129 song said we could not speculate ... question is when will islamics say NO when last sentence is read? ... will it be before word Paramatma is uttered or after? ... and when will we be able to say that muhammad was mentally ill pedophile and mass murderer without our head being chopped off in some parts of world ... and when will we feel in our own homes not threatened by believers of world's only true religion (which is also peaceful religion)?

why no one approached Murthi family to make them understand that fact and convince them to work in our side
@cosmicallyspeaking8716 жыл бұрын
As a matter of fact, a number of people, such as Mohandas Pai (of infosys) and Rajiv himself have approached Narayana Murthy family, very many times to convince them. But because of their " Ahamkara " or hubris, their naivete, their lack of knowledge of their own heritage being taken apart by the likes of Sheldon Pollock and then later on, the sheer loss of face among their American friends' circle, the family simply would not listen to anyone and went ahead with financing & supporting Sheldon Pollock anyway. This is a classic example how our own Hindu people are contributing to the downfall of our heritage. There are very many other examples but this one takes the cake, so to speak.

Somebody (Dr. Rao)said we are "habituated" (to pollock's way) when meaning to say brainwashed or restricted by his eminence; >Calling Sanskrit language 'artificial' rather than logical - by Girish Nath; Constantly asserting Pollock 'says' when they mean Pollock alleges or claims ; >Also repeatedly embellishing Pollock's questionable 'content' as knowledge; Instead of calling him just intelligent , studious, dedicated to his (convoluted) theory -or assumptions ----referring to him as brilliant, knowledgeable!! ...and I thought they were addressing language students!!!!

I felt Prof. C Upendra Rao’s communication/speaking skills were weak which made it hard to follow along his speech, even though he seems to be making some insightful specific comments. Often I found him describing something in incredible detail, but I wasn’t sure why that detail was brought up in the first place.

Later European writers propagated meat eating by the Hindus in order to demean Hinduism.Pollock' s views are not at all acceptable. ifice

@roiroiking7 жыл бұрын
Well, Ashvaghosh was. And there is no proof that Vedic Sanskrit fathered Classical Sanskrit. They are in fact close but ultimately different languages.
@sadenb7 жыл бұрын
Really ? Every classical language comes from it's former archaic form. It's an irrational argument to refute. To say that classical greek did not originate from Ancient greek is preposterous. Just because a language is formed as a result of higher consciousness does not automatically guarantees it for refutation. The benefits of Panini's Grammar are many but the incantations and the vibrations has plenty of benefits as well. A certain holistic approach is needed and that is why study of sanskrit must be done as a whole. Compartmentalisation of education is dangerous and often overlook alternative ramifications.

This approach completely neglects the Tamil approach. V have got lot of proofs, physical, and proven by carbon dating beyond doubt, not only here but in many countries, that Tamil is the oldest laungage on the earth. It's etmology is beyond wuestion. But northes will never accept this. Because always winners write the history.

Pakistan is a thorn in hindus eyes,(dont forget east pakistan). great muslim influence is an inseperable part of their life, , they would want to change the history and rewrite it as a proud and victorious nation, their inferiority complex is obvious ,they all speak urdu and call it hindi, (bughal mai churri , munh mai ram ram.)they drove muslim to creat pakistan

Nobody drove Muslims away. The Muslims themselves don't feel comfortable living with people practising different religion. Not just in India, in every country where they are in minority they prefer to live together in a ghetto atmosphere.

+Infinite Wisdom DO U HAVE ANY WISDOM AT ALL ? THATS WHY U R USING A TAG AS "INFINITE WISDOM " ----READ THE SCRIPTURES & FIND THE TRUTH IF U ARE YET TO !! BUT I DON'T THINK THAT U DON'T KNOW THE SCRIPTURES.. & SO FAR AS JEHAD & JEHADI IS CONCERNED THE WORLD WILL NOT FIND NOTORIOUS JEHADIS LIKE ARYANS ( BRAMHINS, KSHTRIYAS & VAISHYAS) WHO FOR THEIR BENEFITS DIVIDED THE WHOLE INDIAN SOCIETY IN TO PIECES & NOT ONLY THIS BUT DEPRIVED THE WHOLE SOCIETY FROM THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION & RIGHT TO PROPERTY ,BASIC HUMAN NEED.
