Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful rendition of Donovan's song. I want this at my funeral! The voices and harmonies of Joan and her sister Mimi are so lovely and for me, the song had extra poignancy when I learnt that Mimi died young. The song is about a lover's yearning for the unattainable, but for me, it expresses all the nostalgic sense of loss and disappointment that comes with growing older and looking back to a youth that is gone forever. Please keep it on KZbin!

This beautiful, timeless, piece of folk music sung by Joan and Mimi Baez, surely must go down as one of the greatest. I am transported back to the heady days of the 60s when we had such fervour, believe, in a beautiful world, and done all in our power to bring it about!!! Jimmy (UK)

Pure joy And yet better whem with her sister Mimi. Recently Dylan finally made his public tribute to the first one who , with her uttermost sensibility recognized him as a privileged mind ,a brilliant writer. Joan Baez through more than six decades keeps sharing with us her brilliant inteligence, her unique soul, goodness of a heart, her more than beautiful voice. A gifted musician, a rare songwriter giving voice to the voiceless, to the forgotten . And on her seventies she decides to present us with one more gift, her paintings. God bless and keep this human being that is named Joan Baez but that could as well be called simply LOVE.

In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty I want to be in the warm heart of your loving mind To feel you all around me And to take your hand along the sand Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind When sundown pales the sky I want to hide a while behind your smile And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find For me to love you now, would be the sweetest thing T'would make me sing Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind When rain has hung the leaves with tears I want you near, to kill my fears To help me to leave all my blues behind Standing in your heart is where I want to be And I long to be Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind

If there's anything timelessly relevant and painfully true, it's the songs of Dylan and Baez. Still, in 2016, as in the 1960's. What has humanity learned? Or what human nature we possess that is so beautiful yet so repugnant.Grateful they have given us both sides with such clarity.

@@johnheilman41 I am Brazilian and went to Brussels last May only to see her, a dream that came true 42 years after I heard her for the first time on a k7 tape. I didn't even know if she was young or old, or how she would look like. But I was 18 and fell in love with her. Since then my admiration, respect, and love for this boddhisattva named Joan Baez become stronger and deeper. She helps me, with her example, to wake up every morning with the self commitment to try to be a better human being, and try to keep faith in humanity. God bless Joan Baez forever.
