is just my guess, i think joan didn't have a happy childhood and went through many hardships that made her into a disciplinarian, but i think she learned from mistakes as mother with the twins... the studio system crafted many narcississtic people. also not all adopted children are innocent and good, sometimes people adopt evil people. my parents were compassionate and adopted a child but that guy ended up being a criminal and commited SA on a child 😢 (it was on the news) and me and my bio siblings are just normal people. just r.i.p joan c.

and people have to remember Cathy and Cindy, twin daughters of Joan, called Christina a liar and said Joan was a “good, kind and loving mother”.
@rgs623610 ай бұрын
People also need to remember it is easy to talk ill of the dead. People will spread lies propaganda and will make clumsy statements about people they have never met and don’t know. How Pathetic is that! It was proven long ago that JC adopted daughter was a lier and insanely jealous even at a younger age of her step mother…
@heathernikki57349 ай бұрын
As a fellow West Virginian, you need to remember she came out with her tacky book after Joan couldn’t defend herself 😂 Why on earth would everything she said be taken as gospel? Christina comes off as cold, manipulative and jealous. She does nothing but profit off of Joan. I was abused as a child and I don’t believe her. There’s nothing of the complicated feelings you feel toward an abusive parent in any of her statements, it’s just straight venom.
@solemandd679 ай бұрын
People also need to remember two opposite personalities can exist within the same person. Parents can and do have a favorite child/children who may lie to protect their relationship with an abusive parent who they witness harming their siblings. I believe a condition of being granted the privilege to adopt children should be a requirement for 1 week, quarterly, non religious based, mental health counseling each year for the child and parent until the child reaches 18. That should be combined with 12 surprise visits to the home. The child pediatrician and teachers should be part of the team the caseworker assembles. If the family moves they must register for counseling in the new area. Helen Hays, who was a close friend of JC's, went on record about her mothering role. She had nothing to gain by her statement and neither did Greg Bauer.

You do know two things can be right at the same time. She could have been an abusive mother to Christian and also be kind and loving as well. Joan Crawford was a complicated multidimensional person. There were good things about her and bad things about her. We need to stop seeing the world and people as good or evil. Most of us are grey.
