Just an interesting note, Debbie spends the vast majority of the movie wearing very neutral earth-tone makeup colours: a lot of brown eye-shadow, and orange-tone lipstick and blush. The only times she does otherwise are in the bathtub scene and in the final scene. When she tries to electrocute Fester she's wearing blue eye-shadow, but it's subtle and she gets away with it. When she's trying to kill the entire family she's wearing heavy purple eye-shadow, heavy orange blush, and heavy lipstick, and finally reveals herself as a homicidal maniac. so i guess you could say that her makeup...... shows her true colours

Morticia and grandma was just agreeing because that's what you do with people like debbie and i think they were just doing it to bide them time until someone came to save them, and i don't know if grandmas curse actually worked but the events that happened with pubert was pretty weird and debbie about to electrocute the addams rebounded back onto her in the way it did. I think they knew she was going to kill them anyway so they can also only hope she wouldn't. Plus you have to ask yourself why they have electric chairs in their house in the first place and fester, pugsly, and now pubert seems to have an immunity to electricity so want to bet it wouldn't have worked on any of them either?. I think it's to do with the fact morticia is a witch and subsequentially i think all their kids are immune to electricity, we haven't seen if wednesday is but she's often electrocuting pugsley so i bet she is too. Even if pubert did then save them as he coincidently smashed through the ceiling into the electric chair room i guess it was the thought that counts even if they would've probably been totally fine. Although she had an axe too so he did accidently save them in a way. And that says a lot too that while a baby can care about it's family debbie can't care about anyone as an adult.

It's rare for a new cast member to steal the show from an already stellar ensemble. Joan really did an awesome and hilarious job in this film. She made it twice as good and fun to watch. It's also credit to the writers for giving her some great one-liners. Can't think of any other actress who could deliver those lines as perfectly as Joan. Great and underrated actress!! 8:52 "OH, YEAH? SET THIS!!" HAHAHA!!

While I agree with everything you said about Cusack stealing the show, I think Meryl Streep would have been an excellent choice since she did a great job in Death Becomes Her.
