@Davemillet4160 Yesss!! It's a beautiful score!!! I urge you to listen to it as they play this song and the Superman theme as the credits are rolling. 1st the Superman theme plays ( sounding majestic of course) . Then the song that Lois and Superman are flying to in this scene is played. (Incidentally, the name of thus song is called " Can You Read My Mind". It was originally performed by Maureen McGovern. ) This song plays after the Superman theme in the closing credits as the credits are rolling. It sounds beautiful and it ends on such a peaceful note. To add to it at the very end as this song is coming to a close , after the last credit is shown, there was the promise that Superman 2 was coming soon!

How did they film this - the end scene. He steps back and flies off… and goes to her room and there is Clark… no cut. The only thing I can see is the shot of Superman smiling to say goodnight, is not super clear… so green screen there? I don’t see a ‘cut’ in that hedge she walks past, which is a good place to splice the edit. I Saw it last night and suddenly “hey wow… how did they do that in 1978?”. To this day, I still wonder how when they fly side by side, one hand, why she didn’t do go backward all over the place. But it was that “romantic” fly together feel… real world parked. Wonderful scene with wonderful music. Best Superman ever. No question. Never lied the new darker ones.
@rphlcrvz4 ай бұрын
It's not a green screen. Watched (or read somewhere, I can't remember) that they projected a recording of a costumed Chris from behind a screen. All to make a seamless cut and to give the illusion that he changed clothes super fast. EDIT: I think it was from a KZbin channel called CorridorCrew. They usually critique visual effects seen in movies, past and present & would often invite people who work in the industry to critique with them.
@PrestigeLearningАй бұрын
rphlcrvz has it right -- Kidder's looking at a large projection. Look at the plants in the lower left corner. Annoying thing: I read the official "making of" paperback way back when, which claimed that Reeve flew off, got out of the rig and into Clark Kent's clothes, all in the time it took Kidder to walk from the balcony to the door. In other words, the official book claimed they did it for real. But it's obviously a rear-projection

While other actors have portrayed The Man of Steel, the latest being Henry Cavhil, no one has been able to match Mr. Reeves portrayal of Superman. This scene in particular along with the rescue scene are indelibly etched in the minds of millions This love theme was incorporated into the main score of the film Superman's March to musically and thematically signify the love relationship between Superman and Lois is central to the Superman saga. Yes and no. If you've ever gotten to watch the screen tests, they had several ladies that they screen tested with Christopher for the role of Lois. When you watch the screen tests, you definitely get to understand why they hired Margot for the role. Out of all of them, she had the best on screen chemistry with him. For example, Stockard Channing did not make a good choice because even though she was attractive, she was too busy playing Lois Lane with Rizzo's ( Rizzo from the movie Grease) attitude. Anne Archer was pretty, but had way too much nervous energy.
