this podcast among others have changed my life. I am succeeding as a student now and am 3 months away from a long term, enjoyable career. 12 months ago I was a college dropout with no direction, no money, and overweight. I lost all the weight back and then some. I am taking control of my finances. I took responsibility and held myself to account for my many recent failures. Extreme ownership was the only way. Thanks Jocko. My script for my life is finally writing itself due to this. Things are just falling into place without much effort.

[2:29:36] "I really don't want to go into politics" - Jocko Willink Sir, All due respect, that's the exact reason you and those [a-political leaders like you] need to run. The problem with Politics is it's too full of politicians. A quote attributed to Mark Twain states, "Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason." Though a Chinese proverb states, "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war," Woe be it to he who remains to pull weeds while his house burns at the hands of an enemy.

There is some fools who CLOWN him. They make KZbin videos about him saying the best action in a fight is to run away. Not a fire fight but like at a bar. But these people never have an answer when I ask them how many people they know who did a 10 year stretch for involuntary manslaughter when the guy they knocked out died and got charged with his HANDS as the deadly weapon and how many years it took to stop trying to go back to the day before it happened and accept it happened and begin to move forward! FOUR YEARS! EVERYDAY HE WANTED TO GO TO SLEEP AND WAKE UP THE DAY BEFORE AND PROMISED HE WOULD NOT EVEN GO WHERE THE FIGHT HAPPENED AND DUDE WOULD BE ALIVE AGAIN! SOUNDS GREAT! IM SURE HE MEANT IT AND GOD KNEW ALSO! THATS NOT REALITY THOUGH SO ONCE HE KNEW IT WAS TIME TO FACE FORWARD..... HE STILL HAD 6 YEARS TO GO! YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY....... NOTHING..... CRICKETS! THEY IGNORE WHAT I SAID AND KEEP TALKING SHIT LIKE IT WONT HAPPEN TO THEM! YEAH WELL MY DUDE NEVER THOUGHT THAT EITHER TIL HE WAS GONE FOR A FUCKING DECADE! SO JOCKO AINT NO PUNK! HES TRYING TO TEACH! But you just can't argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level "dumb as FUCK" and beat you with experience! AND that is "UNGOOD" LOL REAL TALK!

Jocko and Eli, my friend / mentor / owner of the small Arizona company I work for drove to California and back home today. Everything we talked about on the trip there was in a almost eerily dove into on this podcast, which we listened to on the way home. We laughed and were like, "see told you". But it did really make us feel better. And what are the odds that Eli is an Arizona guy, someone i can actually help in some capacity. Well, allegedly at least haha. Thank you

2:00:00 dang I had to pull over when I heard this. I met Charlie’s (Chuck) cousin while mountaineering In Austria at 18 years old back in 2012. Charlie and his bro (bro still active) had recently graduated buds and I messaged with them on Facebook because I was interested in the SEALs. When I saw him get killed on the news by isis In that ambush I was devastated and immediately reached out to his family. I ended up deciding against doing the SEALs but him and other SEALs I’ve known have shaped me deeply and I’m thankful to them for living out values I never saw growing up. Sometimes I regret not trying out but I’m getting after it in Silicon Valley and the same kind of “not quitting” attitude has led me to incredible opportunities. Every day I feel terrible and want to blame my childhood for current problems I remember men like Charlie and remember I wanted to be a SEAL and I push through it. I need to work on not complaining though. Thanks for your podcast Jocko

Another great interview w a man of Faith, which is always good to see. We need actual leaders to start filling these State and local positions wherever possible. Unfortunately, the realization of how far along this whole Communist/Socialist world agenda seems to be unnoticed. We are no longer a nation of "free" individuals. I love this country and feel so much admiration for these brave men, and I fear for the land my son will inherent as he goes from a boy to a man. Complacency is one word for it, and its really sad. I pray for our youth, and want nothing more than for them to be able to enjoy the same freedoms I had when I was young. Those times are past, and we have a dark path ahead of all of us. My comfort comes from the same Faith a large amount of these men have found, and that rests solely in my Lord and Savior. Im so proud to be an American when I listen to these interviews, but always feel a deep aching pain for where we are heading shortly after. How can we have such a large majority of our "leaders" abdicate our own country's morals and principals, while at the same time leveraging these men's absolute commitment to them and sending them off to put their lives on the line, all under false pretenses?
