This right here tells you all you need to know about judges in the early days of MasterChef USA. Gordon Ramsay can be a harsh judge but knows when to praise someone when that person did things right. Graham Elliot with a big, sincere heart, but his critiques are usually inconsistent. Although he improved on that in later seasons. And Joe Bastianich who's always more bastardnich than any contestant wants/needs him to be.

If I was the judge, if I taste the food and it's delicious but just minor mistakes, I'd still give her a chance. Minor mistakes can be corrected only if the food tastes good. Food is all about good taste. If you fail the good taste part, then definitely no way I'd give you a chance.
