At that time I posted a comment with a bit of information about Chris Whitley. In preparation for posting my comment, I had the pleasure of listening to Whitley performing his song. Joe is RIPENING, Over the years, his voice has really come along... He has always sounded really good, but he keeps maturing.. I am loving his playing & vocals alot more.. I must say his song, MIDNIGHT BLUES,, well, I keep listening to it every week. He was younger then.. So impressive now though.. Ya gotta love Joe right 😊

It's hard to know what Chris envisioned. I don't expect he would have arranged it quite like this. But I do wonder if he ever considered the possibility just on the basis that it's hard enough to get three to five people coordinated in a rock ensemble, so an orchestra would seem like a giant pain in the rear by comparison... I feel like Chris might have arranged it a bit "darker" or more "ethereal". Of course, he may have moved on to other things entirely as evidenced by his body of work.
