«A New Day Yesterday» был сделан в духе таких команд как «Cream», «Lynyrd Skynyrd», «Jeff Beck Group», «Allman Brothers Band», а заглавный трек являлся кавером на одноименную композицию 1969 года группы «Jethro Tull». 2001 год Бонамасса посвятил гастролям, а в 2002-м вернулся в студию в компании Клифа Магнесса (Avril Lavigne). В результате их совместной работы на свет появился несколько более мэйнстримовый альбом «So, It’s Like That», занявший в «Billboard Blues Chart» высшую позицию.

Bad can't be spelled any other WAY than Joe Bonamassa . I'm in Love with the blues. Can't sing the blues if you ain't never had um. Love you Joe. By the way, my father's name is Joe. And he too played the guitar. He left me the only thing I asked him for. It was his 1957 Chet Atkins Grestch ., it had a wah wah bar also. His home burned one year about a week before Christmas. The guitar still in the case he bought , somehow survived the fire !! It way red , and the only thing was it smelled like smoke !! Just not the same kind of smoke that it had when my father played it !!! And he knew how to make it smoke !! All the weird faces to go along with it !! Just thought it was an interesting story. I gave it to my oldest son. And one day I'm sure my grandson Tyler will be the owner. Keep it in the Family.

@@UberFubar75 not Jason, it's Greg Morrow another studio and session legend. I'll be honest though as a drummer, when I first heard this track and the drums knowing it was Kevin Shirley production, I actually thought it was only a single drummer, and that it was a Jason Bonham cameo, such is the Zeppelin-esque drum sound he's a fan of. Alot like the BCC records. Regardless, all the players here absolutely crushed it.

I love how his solos are not just shredding through 16ths. Too many guitarists feel the need to show how fast they are instead of producing beautiful melodies. It's all about the melody, don't be afraid to play just one note for a whole bar! When you build up slowly your crazy 32th note tapping riff will have so much more impact. Playing a guitar solo is like making love to a beautiful woman.

I love this song and this video! It's great to see drummer Anton Fig, late of The Late Show with David Letterman's band! This is a drummer who is capable of playing anything, but knows that laying back for a few beats can be even more effective than burning up the skins! I also love watching the backup singers! Their body language as they physically brace themselves to belt out their parts and the expressions on their faces are very powerful visuals! I love Joe's playing in this song on his Gibson Firebird, and especially the solo on his sweet Gibson Les Paul, which begins with slow, singing notes and ends with a burst of fast, cleverly executed licks that make you adopt your own "rock and roll grimace" facial expression along with Joe. As a bass player myself, I also appreciate that fantastic singing bass line! The more I see this, the more I love it! Great song! Great performance!

We got to meet Joe at Austin City Limits May 25, 2018 before his show that night. He is very genuine. We had seats in the second row. The back up singers completely kicked ass. They did solos. This is the 4th time I have seen him and he just gets better every time. What a great night that was.
