I've seen Guy King play live a couple times in Chicagoland and plan to see him again. A real humble guy that takes time to talk and meet people off the stage. I'm a huge fan. His combination of Jazz and blues takes it to an entirely different level while making it his own. Every time I've seen him he plays straight into TWO Fender quads, a Tele with NO pedals between him and his amps. The tone is as real as it can get played with true feeling.

Adam I hear you.. I hold my pick perpendicular to how it's traditionally held when I want to pick notes fast while soloing. it's a more natural position for the wrist. for an example of what it looks like look at Neal Schon's technique when he shreds

People get jealous
@ke0kie5 жыл бұрын
I think Joe's bag of tricks is so deep, he has difficulty restraining his urge to demonstrate his many many tricks. What a problem to have! That's just my .02, Joe has mad chops, and so much precision. I think it's it's the combination of his deep bag of tricks and the precision, it all goes on display (well a lot of it) at any given moment. 10 seconds pass, and you experience like 5-15 different things, it's a lot to process, though the blues/rocks players (myself included) can't help but nod and be like damn, he's got all those licks on demand and zero qualms about unleashing them in rapid fire!
@TheHumbuckerboy4 жыл бұрын
@ David Stein ... I have never understood why the hate is out there. I believe that it must be due to jealousy ! Joe is so generous with imparting his knowledge of the guitar to the rest of us.
@eenymason4 жыл бұрын
@@garycoates4987 Maybe cos he's so full of himself - can't talk about anything, except how it relates to him, whereas Guy is full of humility - Joe wouldn't know it, if it hit him in the head....

I love reading all the clowns in the comments section when Joe shoes up. Sorry, but he's probably got more musical sounding farts than you could ever manage on a guitar. People talk all kinds of shit about his ability to play the blues, like they have some idea what they're talking about. His style might not be your taste... but there's no questioning his ability. Any guy who's been playing for 30 years professionally, and is as obsessed with playing guitar as Joe is, has probably forgotten more about playing guitar than the keyboard warriors have picked up in a lifetime. You can question his musical taste... but his ability... absurd!
@MrSkeeja8 жыл бұрын
