It's always good to see an old friend. The kind of old friend that you never forgot about even though life took you on totally distinct paths. Joe Locke was, is, and will always be a friend and a brother. We go far back to high school together and during the early to mid 70s, I was his bass player. My name is Gamaliel, he just called me "Papo". From 1972-1977, it was the best time of my musical life for me. I left for the Army, he went on to greatness. I, for once, have an appreciation for this social media thing. I can see an old friend and spend some time with him. As much time as I like listening to his music again and again. Thanks Joe. Gamaliel.."Papo". ❤

Not to go against the title of Billy Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine", but vibraphonist Joe Locke provides all the musical sunshine needed to brighten up anyone's given day! Tom Pethic ~ Host of Artistry in Jazz on Jazz 90.1 FM WGMC Rochester, New York (Hometown of Cab Calloway, Chuck Mangione, Joe Romano, Steve Gadd and of course Joe Locke!)

What type of mallets are you using?
@domokunrawrz6 жыл бұрын
They're his signature mallets. Just look up Joe Locke on Steve Weiss and they should pop up.
