This guy is fascinating. He is possibly the humblest man doing an interview that I have seen in memory. I don't think that most of you know just how unordinary this man is. He gets a F on talking about himself, but an A on life accomplishments, and guts! He is a extraordinary American. One worth fighting for.

Amazing guy. He paid for the bleach recording sessions using money he earned from working as a deep sea fisherman. Jason was actually a better musician that Kurt Cobain. It must have been hard just holding back and playing what was directed to him. Not many people are aware just how good of a musician Jason is. Kurt stated many negative things about Jason but equally, it must have been hard being within close proximity of Kurt and all his idiosyncrasies. Being a major fan of Kurt and Nirvana since 1989, one can be easily be biased, but to this day, Jason has never insulted or criticised Kurt. He stayed quiet for decades. Human beings easily learn how to speak, however, it is a skill and merit to learn when not to speak. Its amazing that we finally get to hear him and his story. What an interesting life. Thanks guys for such a great video.

Honestly. By working as a Deep Sea Fusherman ? I never heard of him before seeing this interview. But I was a keen Nirvana fan from here in The British Isles though. I probably thought Washington was a city somewhere in The USA back then. But probably had a vague idea that Seattle was near Canada.

With that story, it makes more sense to me that he was later admitted to SF. Quiet professional.
@briandoornink7597Күн бұрын
I don't think Kurt said much of anything about Jason except he was just not a good fit for the band. I could be wrong though, it's more than being a good musician, one's personality has to fit within the group as well.

The first hour was the most excruciating JRE interview I've seen. Joe continually engaged Jason with incredible patience, kindness and objectivity. Jason responded well to this environment. Joe has a gift at communicating and now we have the gift of Jason's fascinating story and his perspective on this crazy world we are riding on together. Well done gents!

What Jason said about Afghanistan geographically is pretty much what I said after my deployment there. Nangarhar province where I was at looked like Colorado. Incredible mountain ranges, alpine forest, and sprawling streams and rivers. I always tell people if it weren’t for endless war happening there it’d be one of the premiere vacation destinations on the planet.

@@GrownWithReasonAmen, I wish I had God in my life when I was at war. Interesting how he kept me until I really needed him. Now he uses me even as broken as I am through his grace we are a new creation.
@GrownWithReasonАй бұрын
@ephesianarmorofgod3670 His grace is literally amazing. I look back on my life and am amazed how He tolerated me and still allowed me to find Him later on. Happy you were also found Brother. I knew a guy who was a serious alcoholic for years. Couldn't function without alcohol in his system. He tried to quit several times, rehab etc. Anyway he finally had an honest breakdown with God and truly asked for His help. Accepted Jesus and found his way out of it. Hasn't drank in several years, doesn't want to. He said in the counseling programs he went to they said "if you're an alcoholic you will always be one even after you stop drinking ". He told me after he put his faith in God through Christ and was born again that, that alcoholic was now dead. He isn't an alcoholic he is a "new man" as Paul tells us. The "old man" is dead. I really liked that as I can relate to his story. Anyway I say all of that because as I'm sure you know if you are living through Christ as it sounds like you are that "broken" man is dead. You are whole now. Keep your focus on him and the coming kingdom. Read the word and let it saturate every aspect of your life. Remember Lot's wife when they fled Sodom and Gomorrah God told them "Do not look back" she did and was turned into a pillar of salt. We are told in Proverbs to not be "the dog that goes back to his vomit", Jesus said that someone who "puts their hands on the plow and turns back is not worthy of the kingdom". Keep fighting the good fight. Thank you for your reply. 🙏

2:15 - it helps to have present parents. I learned gardening, marksmanship, long division, reading, a bit of computer programming, and lawn care from my grandparents. I had a pretty good start with them. But grandma died when I was 10 and grandpa wasn't all there after that, succumbing to depression and dementia. I bounced around from home to home within my family and acquaintances, but never got real attention from a mother or father figure. I was an obligation, but never a joy. I was abused physically and emotionally. I was made to feel worthless and thrown away. No one taught me how to shave, get a job, think, do taxes, invest intelligently, have courage, have ambition, or hustle. No one after my grandparents taught me that I could matter. I just wanted to disappear. Later, I was too afraid to have children because I wasn't equipped emotionally or financially, and I also worried I would mess them up. After miraculously having my first child at 42 years old (my second at 44, and a 3rd on the way), I am experiencing a joy that I never thought I could have. I look at my children, and I think "how could someone look at these precious souls and treat them the way I was treated?". I want to love them and teach them and let them know they are more valuable than anything, and that they can be or do anything they dream if they work hard, ask questions, gain wisdom, and treat people with respect. I started out far more intelligent and bolder than my peers. It didn't take long for my potential to evaporate through atrophy of the spirit. I didn't become an engineer and invent a new power source, I didn't revolutionize the auto industry, I didn't design computer hardware, and I didn't become a ski instructor; but I did stay in a boring "secure" job for 16 years until COVID-19 (and burnout) pulled the rug out from under me. We need our parents, and we need them to speak life into us daily. Yet, sometimes bad parents are better than no parents.

I actually think it would be interesting for Joe to have an everyday ordinary person segment, where he sits down with a non-celebrity and digs in deep to see how they tick and give an insight into the path theyve walked that lead them to where they are today, which is essentially what he does with all of his guests. Some of the most intriguing people ive ever met were ordinary, unassuming, average Joe-Type people (pun not intended) Or maybe thats just me and my fascination with people in general even though im typically not fond of humanity lol.....its a paradox 😂
