I acquired a T3 level spinal cord injury in 1993 at age 21. My mother wanted me to move back in with her so she could help me. I didn’t do that because I knew that she would wait on me hand and foot and I would never become independent. Her intentions were good but I knew what the end result would be so I remained on my own. I have managed to survive and thrive, get married and start and run 2 businesses. Life would be a lot easier being waited on hand and foot but my mental state would not be in a good place. Despite my spinal cord injury I still prefer and enjoy physical labour. I was a carpenter before my accident. Now I run a computer sales and service business, a bicycle sales and repair shop plus I’m currently restoring a 140 year old 3 story hotel along with my wife. We’re doing the majority of the work ourselves so I had to learn how to do plumbing and electrical work too. Some people call me crazy, I just like to stay busy. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

Prior to covid, our 3rd grader was on the verge of failing due to poor reading scores. He was passed because everyone was passed on in 2020. In the fall, we enrolled him into an established online public school. We watched how the kids in the district were yoyo'd between in person and online over the following years. Our son had a consistent education from teachers who had been teaching online for years, not just tossed into it. He continued for 3 years and returned to brick and mortar at the beginning of his 7th grade year. He is currently a few weeks into 8th grade and is testing at the top of his class. Just wanted to share that there are rare cases out here who thrived. Had he stayed in the district, we would have had a different outcome. MUCH LOVE for all teachers, but remote teaching was not what they had trained for.

This just goes to show, we don’t need kids going to school all summer if they can’t get it done in an 8 day at school for 10 months of the year. They need to revamp what and how things are is being taught and take a look at the day. So much time gets wasted. Teachers are working hard, but passing everyone only holds the class mates back that’s ready to move forward.

I love JRE and Dr Phil…..but I just have to say this….I believe there are a lot of middle class people like myself, that quite frankly, are tired of hearing how screwed up the United States is….that’s the easy conversation….we are aware and get it….implementing procedures or programs to improve the situation is what we want more of, and accountability and discipline held to a much higher standard. Our parents, educators, bosses, CEOs, political reps, law enforcement, laborers, and each and every person on a personable note, need to hold themselves accountable for others, and we all need to hold ourselves accountable. No free passes, and it would sure help if government would stop giving free passes to people undeserving.

I think the most undeserving free pass moochers is the government. 😮 No one notices that the majority of our tax dollars fund their little piggy banks. We pay all of their bills. They live for free on top of that help themselves to 6 figure salaries, full benefits. private jets, luxury hotels. plus they money launder using charity and fundraisers or made up shit like climate nonsense. that's not what we agreed to. they're not allowed to make decisions with our money without convincing us first but that changed in 1913 and nobody noticed we all just think we're supposed to it's driving me batty lol

As an educator I believe it could turn around in one generation. Fund education properly - smaller schools and reinstate vocational programs. 15 year olds boys really like coming to school on the day they have cooking. Put some of the veterans, the mechanics and the welders, to work teaching the skills they were using in their service or listening to students read.(The kids can't read because it's a skill passed one on one and no-one seems to be taking the time.) Look at the Finland model for supporting teachers so they don't burn out so quickly. I think if one state took on the challenge of creating a state of the art education system the results would speak for themselves and others would quickly follow.
@swetsTV
@swetsTV 4 ай бұрын
No. You need your Teaching License revoked immediately. Educators have become the main problems, and you just proved it. You knowingly have students unable to read and YOU WANT THEM IN A COOKING CLASS? You do not need “more funding” or a “State of the Art Education System”, you need BETTER TEACHERS. The problem falls on narcissistic Educators like you and nothing else. Period. “the kids can’t read” and where does that burden fall? THAT is your fault. You want Veterans, Mechanics, and Welders (only men wow what a surprise) to come and listen to students read? THAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, YOU should be the one listening. The Finland model is a disaster are you kidding me? Forget about goddamn Finland AND LOOK AT YOUR SCHOOL. Like jesus this entire thing you wrote is total nonsense only a woman think of. Get out of your woke fantasy and educate our kids Junine.

I feel like the cost of living in general has been the FACTOR for the diminishing ways of living and ABILITY to afford to live in general. In America If you make millions of dollars you’ll be fine but if you make less than 100k like MOST of us then you will be the victim of the modern day slavery. The system in which we are governed are broken and we’re meant to fail in my life time. Like HOW do I live knowing I will never be able to afford a house without living paycheck to paycheck. How can I raise a family when I live paycheck to paycheck. It’s easy to hear rich people talk about the real problems they see EVERYONE FACE because it’s entertainment and influential. All I want is a fucking tax break.

So grateful I took my son to church and he wanted to get out of the public school system. We found you, Joe and Jordan Peterson and started listening to you, Dr. Phil! Truth matters and I love how it’s coming out now.

Regarding this Dr. Philism: "No matter how flat you make the pancake it always has two sides." I have a few questions, Dr. Phil. Do you put a pat of butter and some syrup between each pancake in the stack or do you put the butter and syrup on the very top of the whole stack? Furthermore, if you make blueberry pancakes, how do you handle the blueberries in the pancake mix? Do you a)put the blueberries in whole, b) Crush the blueberries, or c)chop the blueberries in a blender? And finally, how are you making the pancakes flatter - a) Are you pouring them out thinner in the skillet or b)Are you crushing the pancakes between two plates or with a spatula?

Maybe a good analogy to use for how unpredictable the fentynol content is in any form, would be to show that taking a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe and mixing all the ingredients together, every single cookie will NOT have the same amount of chocolate chips in it. Now take those chips out and replace them with fentynol..

Opioid dependency is a chemical imbalance in the brain. It’s not something that can be fixed with talk therapy, or by demanding people remain clean. If you’re dehydrated you aren’t sent to a psychologist’s office for talk therapy. You dont go to (talk) therapy for a broken bone, so why would therapy somehow fix opioid dependency? ANR (accelerated neuro regulation) is a $20k treatment that was invented in the 1990’s by the Israeli doctor Andre Waismann. Patients wake up from that treatment (4-5hrs under heavy sedation) without any withdrawal symptoms. Dr. Weismann has been trying to share this procedure with as many doctors as possible, if insurance payed for it, then the opioid epidemic would cease to exist. Then people could get on with their lives without having to take something every day to feel normal. Please get Joe to have Dr. Waismann on, (he’s got an amazing voice for radio) he’s an amazing doctor that’s got the cure for opioid dependency. He has clinics in Europe, Israel, Brazil, Georgia, and he opened up on in 2019 in USA.

Are you talking about the withdrawal process or the whole mentality, and thought process what opioid addiction is? It’s a whole lot more than just a physical dependency, it’s physiological, mental complete lifestyle. This dr would have to make a person have an entire new brain, it’s functionality, coping skills, emotional state being stable, re wiring everything that person does on a day to day basis, new friends, new way of life everything. A whole new thought process. The withdrawal process I can understand maybe beating, that’s the easy part.

My mama, God rest her legendary and beautiful soul In Heaven, told us the Little Red Hen story when we were little- and referenced it her whole (too short) life.. Literally as adults she’d say to us kids ‘remember the little red hen…’ with a look in her eye 😉 Point learned and taken. If you want to enjoy the outcome, you have to work to make it happen. Or it’s not for you to enjoy- period. 🤷‍♀️

Like to be a devils advocate, he is a great psychologist and that’s why he got his show in the 1st place. My brother was veteran with PTSD & alcoholism and he even chose to live homelessly. He jumped from “helping hand” to helping hand and ended up dying at 38. Most homeless people have loving families who are hoping they come out of it before they are enabled to death. Many will die and maybe that’s an important part of the solution because people need to SEE it.

nurse here - im working with the next gen now in their early 20s and this is all SPOT ON. They stay on their phones the rest of the shift after doing the BARE minimum work required, dont have any drive to be better, and get offended if you ask them for more help…i really think this is a crisis. Kids should be off phones and disciplined. Employers need to have a way to report employees who are on their phones ALL day. The idea that one can get paid to sit on your phone…rarely I see one that is different and they stick out high above the rest - and THATs who Ill hire one day. You can tell the ones who are phone addicted bc they look down all the time, are apathetic and have no self esteem. And kids should have to earn respect from adults - not the other way around! If you cant control ur kids in public - leave the store - thats ur fault not mine…dont look at me like I have to accept it. Who knows if that history on the peanut gallery is really true?! Is it peer reviewed?

I taught post secondary education from 1998 until about 2017. The difference in the students is why I won’t teach anymore. The students represent $$ and the schools will coddle them while not backing their educators. I’m an educator, not a babysitter for (chronological adults) and it’s too bad for these kids because they’re not going to be able to deal with/keep employment in the real world. Their main goal, instead of learning is getting the teachers in trouble.

They have group homes for those who can't. They also have people in apartments and someone checks on them once a week... People donate homes a lot to, for group homes. They usually need work. Its expensive to up keep. The hotel idea is a good thing. They have to be clean is the rule, great idea! There are programs out there, just not enough. They definitely need more low income places, for sure. Try living on 900 a month.

@@carolynmaryscottInterest rates were around 4% under President Trump, and inflation was only 1.4%. We could all afford our lives only 3.8 years ago. Shortly into office, the incompetent Biden-Harris mis-Administration had inflation up to 9% and interest rates up to almost 8%. Comming down from that has been slow, and frankly, with the open border invasion, inflation will drive up because of government spending to support it. Prices of products have gone up 20% to 30% under Biden and Harris. If you vote Democrat learn to live with the high prices and the maddness forever. I was born in 1950 at Santa Monica Hospital, my Dad after marrying my Mom got Drafted when they returned from their Honeymoon, this was in 1943 . He was sent to the Philippines as a Medic and was issued the M1 Carbine, from his childhood and the experiences he had he ended up carrying the Thompson Sub Machine gun. After the Bomb was dropped he was sent to Nagasaki. My Dad never talked about any of this but he’s foxhole buddy after My Dad died, from the oxidizing agent used by Rocketdyne at Santa Susana test facility in the San Fernando Valley. I walked 2.6 miles to my school. Only Sepulveda and Devonshire were paved.Being the oldest kid in My Family I had a garden were I grew Corn 🌽, tomatoes 🍅, strawberries 🍓, spinach and chard and potatoes 🥔. We had a chicken coop and I collected eggs every morning from my chickens. Cotton tail rabbits were everywhere and I caught them with thin copper wire, I also caught ground squirrels and could get 10 cents for every tail and would feed them to my chickens with what was left. Being the oldest I learned how to buy dried beans and soak them in water until soft and put pork in them for soup. After she would cook a turkey she used to extra to make turkey vegetable soup. My Dad taught me about the internal combustion engine and all of the gas and hydraulic system , how to do a break job on the wheels. Anyway I had a great childhood and actually got to know all of my Grandparents- both of my Grandmothers were German and I learned from them. When I got to Jr High school and took German she had a number tattooed on her forearm when she was in the camp for being a Jew . I took wood shop, Metal shop and electric shop and a lot of the things I had already done. When my Dad with the help from our neighbors built a room addition on our house I learned a lot about construction and wood framed houses. I became a Respiratory Therapist when I was 22 years old after I had an Industrial Accident through Vocational Rehabilitation, I chose this career after taking to a guy who gave me a treatment when I was in a Hospital, leaning on his Bird machine he told me their was a 180 to 1 ratio of Women to Men in the Hospital Business.Needless to say when the Birth Control Pill came out in 1973 and the situations I found myself in were Unbelievable. I worked in that field until I was 36 years old, AIDS had come out and wanted to get out. My Uncles had worked for the LADWP and so I applied to be an Electric station Operator, being it was a training position they couldn’t test me on Electrical principles and instead tested me on First Aid and fluid dynamics, I got a 98 percent on the test. I completed my career with the Department in 2016 after spending the last 17 years in Bishop California at the Control Gorge Power Plants as a TRO. And moved to Carson City Nevada.
