JRE/MMA fans is what most of these people seem to be. They got so used to stoned and drunk podcast Joe or analytical commentary for their favorite sporting event and find it odd when they see his on-stage persona. Most comedians have an on-stage persona. Stanhope isn't always pissed off and caustic, Bill Burr can be a relaxed, good dude, Kevin Hart doesn't yell every sentence in his personal life. We just don't see these other celebrities in their natural environment often and don't get to see the differences. It's not everyone who fits that description, many have valid opinions and may jut not like his standup material, but a lot seem to hate it because they got so used to TV and podcast Joe.
