Not only does he rap with 11 albums since 2004, he produce songs for other artists (Janet Jackson, Alicia keys, Brandy, Monica, keyshia cole, The game, jay-z, Common, Rihanna, Beyoncé, lil Nas x, Sia, etc.) since 2000, songs you might have heard & didn’t know he produced them!! Producing is impressive because it’s putting sounds, percussion, samples & Melodies together & adding vocals with special formulas to make music you listen to on the radio! To do it for himself & others, it’s a rare talent!! Plus some of his albums changed the hip hop genre to make it the way it is now in the sense that many current artists including The weeknd, Travis Scott, xxxtentacion, etc are heavily influenced by his type of sound, his fashion style, etc. Plus he’s the only rapper to have such a big success with a shoe deal over most of athletes in history. He might be bipolar/crazy/ridiculous/etc but he has accomplished all that & still been one of the only artist to be vulnerable/honest on such a huge platform!!! The guy that made his documentary was a standup comedian when Kanye wasn’t famous behind the scenes!! Because he was so impressed by Kanye creativity, passion, work ethic back to the end of the 90s, he left everything to film Kanye almost 24/7 without any guarantee Kanye would be a star More than a decade later, the documentary came out!! & so many other things!! You can hate him, absolutely, not agree with everything he says or how he acts, mental illness or not, no excuse!! You’re right!! But He is a Legend, that’s just a fact!!!

@@fearsomestm00c0w Well first, if your whole reason is that his music is bad (minority opinion) then this is a shit argument.
@josephpress.5 жыл бұрын
@@fearsomestm00c0w 1) He’s helped develop this genre in a way that in my opinion, only few others have. Yes, the men before him such as Biggie, Jay, Em, Dre, Run DMC, NWA etc made Rap mainstream, what Kanye did, and still continues to do for this genre in my opinion (making samples so much more popular, 808s, etc) surpasses the efforts made by all of those before him, and since him. 2) I believe that Kanye has modernized mainstream music, swaying it towards Hip-Hop (this is again a bit of a build-up on point 1, but still slightly different). Unlike in P1, he’s not just developing the genre, but instead developing mainstream music, and the culture that people conform to. I believe if not for Kanye, there would be no “Hold On We’re Going Home” or “Starting from the Bottom” or “Clique” and similar songs on the radio. I feel that Kanye opened the gate, and bridged hip-hop with mainstream music (yes I know it was still on the radio before but not at the same level) Many, MANY modern artists cite their inspiration as Kanye, and because he changed the rap landscape so much (listen to 50 cent and g unit and then Family Business or Slow Jamz. Finally, my final, and most important point as to why I believe Kanye is a musical genius is quite simple. Kanye is ahead of his time, and as such is having an impact on music that nobody else will have in our time. Kanye is doing things for music that nobody else can or did, and as such he is a genius. He does things that others wouldn’t think of, or dare do. He gives 0 cares in the world, and for that kudos.
