@JustMemes No that’s not what he means at all. He is saying don’t be a garbage individual who doesn’t work on oneself and you won’t have issues finding or maintaining a healthy relationship. People have a lot of nasty character traits and habits they don’t feel like addressing thus sabotage themselves throughout life. This stuff doesn’t need to be excused as part of one’s “personality”.

I had many girlfriends and even I proposed once. But deep there I knew I did not want that. So I waited like an asshole and changed inside and finally found completely different girl, different to any former girls. She is genuine kind and nice person, no stupid pride to say something nice, no manipulation but honesty. So I say - be alone, learn to be alone. Many people are with others because they do not know how to be alone and they chose wrong. When you learn how to be alone and because you start to really like yourself then everything change. You are no longer with somebody because you hate to be alone but you like yourself and you invite somebody to your great life.

The worst factor in relationships is that in the early phase when the love bio-chemistry is through the roof both partners want to please their loved ones and are open and tolerant to the other's favorite preferences (interests, hobbies, food, etc). And after that period is over than you realize this person actually enjoys things that you are not liking at all. And it becomes very unpleasant to live with a person so different than you.

joe's advice is something i always tell myself and others: be the best version of yourself for someone. Too often people worry so much on what they want in a partner , but they forget about trying to hold the same standards for themselves. If you want someone who is genuine and kind and honest apply those same rules to yourself. And lastly, find people who share same values and beliefs as you do.

With Lex it revolves around the fact he never puts himself in situations where he can serendipitously meet women. If he spends all day his study learning, your meetings with new potentiel women per year falls drastically, and with that, your ‘hit rate’ because you aren’t practicing your social skills
@evedotcom
@evedotcom Жыл бұрын
Hit rate, cringe. Also you don’t know what he’s doing. And there are multiple ways to go about this beyond the path you mention. I heard Andrew Huberman talk about setting him up with a friend. He may be meeting more women than you think. He seems fairly social for an introvert.
@dannykuang9433

@@evedotcom soon as I read hit rate and imagining "tagging" women like some deer out in the wilds...*cringe* lol, but I sorta get what he means although his description leaves much to be desired. Never be "eager" for something, especially meeting someone for a relationship, it never ends well. Find someone when you find someone, no point to force it to happen. I've never put myself in social situations to increase my "hit rate" and never really was trying to look for a girlfriend..but guess what? I always ended up finding one when I found one.
@benhallo1553

@@evedotcom didn’t mean Hit rate as in sleep with them. I just mean interactions that lead to some form of romantic development. Also if you want proof of this, look at what he says in this video where talks about working too hard and not making the time and on top of that he has another video which is like an example of his usual. He literally spends it completely alone studying AI, exercising alone and like practicing guitar

There's more key detail. One must be secure in oneself (and a connection with God, humbleness in regard to God is good,… if one has such feelings),… and have an abundance mindset,…. not 'needy'.

If that was true, it would be easy to find you. It isn’t, so you might want to revise your statement. Like, you, the ones waving your hands ALSO are, to no fault of your own, subconsciously looking for: height, build, humour, physically confident, etc. People like Lex don’t fall into most of those categories and end up not even making the corner of your eye sitting in the same coffee shop, restaurant, or a friend’s party as you. When you’re approached by the Lexs of this world, you don’t seem stimulated enough sexually, so you filter that off as nice guy / friend. And there you have it. In real life, you end up waving your hands at the wrong guy.

I dated a girl who I thought was the one, fairly attractive and so kind, she changed hard, got back into hard drugs, made up lies about me, spoke to me like shit, threw things at me, lied to me. I wasnt on the ball, I didnt grow up in a very loving home and I probably projected my kindness onto her superficial front. You're kind, you're fit, you're 6 ft. tall, you run 5 or 6 days a week you lift 3 days a week, you make 200K a year, you're really happy with your life largely because you don't have much for expectations and have really over achieved compared to where you came from, but all that you are now takes up so much of your time, that even though you're none of the bad things Joe listed, that fact that you don't feel the need to keep up with the Jones's with bigger houses and more cars, still disqualifies you, not because you're bad but you're still not enough because you aren't mainstream enough compared to most women's expectations.

I learned an important lesson early in life. There was a stunningly beautiful woman in an office where I worked. One day she came to work beside me. I was the happiest man on earth. Then I learned she had zero personality and was as interesting as a blank wall. Personality is what you fall in love with.

Interesting. It took me years and several relationships to realise I’m okay and enough being single. I‘ve become much healthier and more successful since (after an initial painful transition). But I would not say I prefer being single and relationships are highly overrated. I would say at this time in my life, being single has been necessary and, contrary to popular belief, a fulfilling experience. I can see value in a high quality relationship and I’m gradually opening up to it, but I also feel whole on my own. It’s a great position to be in. There can be so much value in extended periods of being single.
