@@ianlengua7106 Tyson even said that he couldn’t beat Ali either. We will never know because they were both in different time periods. Cleveland Williams as has been noted on other videos of this fight, took a .357 to the stomach and lost some of his large intestine. He was also well past his prime in the Ali fight but Williams could still get you out of there with knockout power in either hand. He just had no chance vs Ali who had not even reached his prime yet.

Williams also had one kidney
@billrankin5899
@billrankin5899 Жыл бұрын
Two years before his fight with Ali, Williams was pulled over on a highway by a Texas state trooper. According to the police report Williams resisted arrest, and the officer's .357 magnum revolver went off during an ensuing struggle, hitting Williams in the stomach and lodging in his right hip. Williams underwent four operations over the subsequent seven months to address injuries to his colon and right kidney. The right kidney ultimately had to be removed in June 1965. Doctors could not extract the bullet, which had broken his right hip joint and caused partial paralysis of some of the hip's muscles, over 10 feet of his small intestine had to be removed, and nerve damage affected his left leg above the knee and caused it to atrophy as a result. So the much diminished Williams was still good enough to fight Ali. Hats off to Cleveland Williams!

There is a hell of a lot of crap about the Clay (Ali), and Cooper fight. I have the fight on dvd, there is a still on the dvd showing Clay's glove with sponge poking out in the 4th round before Cooper tagged Clay. Angelo Dundee saw the split in the glove, put his index finger inside the split and lengthened it. He then alerted the referee. When Cooper hit Clay he was up at the count of three, watch the reaction of the corner crew, they all start to panic, as Clay sits down the trainer throws water in his face everyone is shouting in a frenzy, Clay starts to shout to shut everyone up, and the TV commentator says Clay is dazed he doesn't know where he is ! In my opinion if it had been earlier in the round Clay would have recovered and went on to win the fight. Ali had a jaw that could have been forged in Sheffield Steel Works.
