🥊Frazier hurts every time he thinks of Ali. His hostility still rages within. It's a consuming, ugly bitterness he has carried for decades, the result of the hurtful things Ali has said. He insulted his intelligence, his character and his lack of black pride. Ali called Frazier ugly and ignorant and, most disturbingly, an Uncle Tom. Frazier, the son of South Carolina sharecroppers, was deeply wounded by Ali's ridicule which was accepted as socio-political fact and isolated Frazier from the black community. Ali somehow succeeded in making a fight between two African - American men a matter of black and white. Throughout the black community, he was an object of derision and scorn because of the way Ali treated him, it was cruel. The hatred grew intensely within Frazier. He was unable to compete with Ali's eloquence, but he had a left hook that could do the talking for him. Frazier, with loating in his heart and thunder in his Everlast gloves, punished Ali for the things he said. Notice after Ali vs Frazier 1 fight announcers said Frazier was feeling sic in his corner and he just wanted to go back to dressing room. That's because Joe couldn't slow his heart and nervous system back down to a resting state. Joe already had history of high blood pressure and diabetes, he spent nearly two weeks in the hospital for exhaustion, blood pressure, diabetes and kidney problems.. BUT BUT when he was in his 40s Joe was out dancing and singing in the clubs while Ali couldn't talk and his tremors were getting worse. Younger folks haven't a clue what Ali actually did to Joe, let me explain by saying it's exactly like today's Hollywood liberal cancel culture. Frazier hated that Louisville Lip and before fight he got on his knees and prayed to God that he could make Ali perish. Personally i have to admit, everytime Frazier smacked Ali i cheered, We All Cheered, MILLIONS CHEERED "We locked up three times. He won two, and I won one. But look at him now. I think I won all three." -- Joe Frazier

I cannot believe the arguments and ugliness and ignorance this comment exposed. Yes, I vividly remember this. I remember all sorts of things from the late 60's and early 70's. I remember moving to our new house in 1971 at 4 years old. I remember my dad bringing home his first company car, a brand new bergundy 1969 Buick Skylark wagon. I remember going down a sidewalk to a restaurant near a neighborhood of a house my parents rented. I talked to my mom about it a few years ago and she told me there was no way I should remember that because it was in 1968. I remember getting a basketball and sleeping bag for my 5th birthday. I vividly remember Watergate being on the radio and television for what seemed an eternity. I remember being home with my mother the day they announced President Johnson's death on TV. I'd say that I remember everything about my life from age 4 on.

Personally i have to admit, everytime Frazier smacked Ali i cheered, We All Cheered, MILLIONS CHEERED

🌐 When a simple man is put on tv most of his lifetime and praised by so many you should ask yourself, what is the purpose behind this demigod? The social engineering around Ali was incredible. The media hype built him up so audience viewers became entranced hypnotized and mesmerized from the entertainment and viewed his fights as iconic historic events even when he was losing and being rocked senseless. Ali was chosen by the system and turned into a left wing political pawn, that's why he has an $85 million dollar museum in Louisville KY. Where is Louis Marciano Frazier and Holmes museums? At least Joe Louis was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors unlike Clay who dodged. Elijah Mahomud convinced Clay to dodge cause he was their meal ticket, so Clay faked being Minister so he could dodge Nam while preaching cancel culture towards the white man who he called "Devil's." But it all backfired. He thought he was going to be gifted special exemption cause he was champ, Nope. 51,038 white soldiers vs 7,243 black soldiers were killed during Vietnam war so don't complain about racial inequality. Jackie Robinson said, "Ali's stand was hurting his race who were, unlike him, fighting in Vietnam. The tragedy to me is, Cassius has made millions of dollars off the American public, and now he's not willing to show his appreciation to a country that's giving him, in my view, a fantastic opportunity." At that time being drafted was the Law. When Clay refused induction someone had to take his place. What if that someone was You? I served in Nam shoulder to shoulder with black men who were "The Greatest" authentic heroes of America, not that privileged two-faced bigoted racist who turned his back to his own people once his boxing license was reinstated. The lottery chose me right outta highschool and my parents didn't have money to send me to Canada or bribe a doctor for medical excuse. Blame the politicians and military industrial complex, not the young innocent teenage kids who were family, friends and neighbors. Good men who did their best in a bad situation who were sent there to fight for the ideal of freedom of people everywhere. Dad told me, "son, it's the's law, go fight hard, and represent your country well." So i fought hard, and represented my flag proudly. What would You have done? Donald J. T. avoided Nam and the world hates him, Cassius Clay resists and becomes a famous civil rights activist and legendary antiwar hero. Today BLM is painted on every basketball court and I'm supposed too become less white and reprogrammed, something is twisted. Ali's legend is far greater than the actual reality of his career lik' gettin rocked by 185 lb fighters and outscoring flat-footed sluggers. I stepped through those ropes 24 times and it's not that difficult after first several fights. What's difficult is working a common job 10 hours a day for 50 years to pay mortgage and put food on the table for your children.

If it wasn't for Joe, Ali would have never got his boxing licence back. Joe looked after Ali when he was barred from the ring, Joe gave him money etc etc and pressured the boxing commission to let Ali box again. Then Ali shat on Joe from a great height and Joe never forgave him.

@@guanjun1178 you hit on it Ali was the golden boy. He had a golden hue and had some pretty boy features . He was easier to market to the public as pretty sells. Sonny and Joe had the street look. George was a gloomy character at the time so naturally Ali had the advantage in the media market. Though George probably overtook him from another direction.

I think when Ali's bro came up, Ali realized it could go left easy. So to prevent his brother and Joe from clashing he engaged Frazier knowing he could diffuse a real conflict by directly engaging and dispersing the energy in the least harmful way...and he would also be able to continue to antagonize Frazier, at the same time. He never stands until Frazier asks his bro, "you in this too"? He didn't look like he was going to even get up til it looked like something else might pop off.

Yeah apparantly they were scary nation of islam people or something. We all know what angry islamists are like. Specially to black people, but I think Ali was an islamist himself. A lot of black people in america are. Islam countries were cutting their genitals off and using them as slaves for about a thousand years longer than white people, its weird how they forgave them but cant forgive white people, or even go to war for America.

You’re right. It looked like Ali didn’t take this seriously at all, but wanted to create some hype before the match. Ali was fully in control of his emotions. Frazier May he been the more dignified man, but he wasn’t in control here.

Yes, Ali went on record about this incident some years later IIRC. Said when he looked up at Joe standing over him, he saw "his eyes meant it." Realizing that if Joe landed a punch on him there in the chair he could have broken his jaw, Ali had to think fast. He couldn't lose face by backing down but neither did he want any broken bones. Ring technique wouldn't help him in that situation, so he threw his arms around Joe to stifle him.
