This reminds me of when Caesar put Marc Antony up to pulling a stupid stunt to test the 'can I be emperor' waters during the Lupercalia Festival. As Marc Antony was walking in the parade down the street in front of Caesar's viewing platform, he broke off from the parade, ran over in front of the platform and then pulled a Diadem (crown) out of his robes. He then 'jokingly' tried to get Caesar to put on the diadem, but Caesar refused, waving Antony off like it was just him being lil sillygoose with this 'haha so silly' offer to put on a fucking CROWN because he just 'loves and respects Caesar so much for being such a great General lol'. But Antony doubles down and climbs up into Caesar's viewing box and tries to hand the crown to him directly -- probably part of their plan so that Caesar could make it look like he was being humble and NOT wanting to be king even when people are offering it to him and people in the crowd had been paid to chant REX REX REX (KING KING KING) at previous events. And everyone goes silent, staring at them, waiting to see if Caesar is for real going to take the crown and officially become King even though he is already functionally a dictator that runs the entire empire, but people just can't believe that he really might LEGITIMATELY name himself as King after his coup. Caesar then reads the audience and realizes this might not go well, and so he plays it off again, but this time in a really theatrical way: "I cannot accept this Antony, there is only one King of Rome, and that is JUPITER OPTIMUS MAXIMUS! Go put the crown on Jupiter's statue!" and then everyone clapped. That's what the Rock is doing lol

@@300thNPCJohn Cena had a saftey net back home in having a rich dad. The rock didnt, he was failed football player who was flat broke and had broke parrents, if wwe failed hed have to start from the bottom. There was no family business for him to inherret like Cena. Back then the wrestling business was wwe wcw then nothing. Also the Anoi fmaily was hardly pro wrestling royalty back in those days they were well known but they werent considered a dynasty even when rock became wwf champion they werent considered a dynasty, it wasn't until the next genration of reigns the usos and this current young generation in solo sikoa that they started being considered the royal family of wrestling. The high cheif peter miavia and the wild somoans became blue collar men and the rocks parrents tried to diswade the rock from pro wrestling because of the racial disparity in pro wrestling and because life on the road led to problems and addictions. The Rock going on these shows to talk about how "political parties wanted him to run for president reminds me of the time when Caesar schemed with Marc Antony to do a little 'skit' together during the Lupercalia Festival in front of the whole city. As Marc Antony was walking in the parade down the street in front of Caesar's viewing platform, he broke off from the parade, ran over near Caesar and then pulled a crown out of his pocket. He then 'funnily' tried to get Caesar to put on the crown, but Caesar refused it, waving Antony off like it was just Antony being silly with this excessive show because he just 'loves and respects Caesar so much for being such a great General lol'. So instead, Antony climbs and then vaults himself up into Caesar's viewing box and tries to hand the crown to him directly, and everyone goes silent, staring at them, waiting to see if Caesar is for real going to take the crown and become King. Caesar then reads the audience and realizes this is actually not gonna go well, and so he plays it off again, but this time in a really theatrical way: "I cannot accept this Antony, there is only one King of Rome, and that is JUPITER OPTIMUS MAXIMUS! Go put the crown on Jupiter's statue!" and then everyone clapped. That's what the Rock is doing lol

I think Joe's new comedy club is also a reason JRE has become more soft. A lot of comedians are moving to Austin to use it as a homebase. Entire shows depend on it to be a reliable venue to film their content. And most of these people are close friends of Joe's. So I think he's scared of getting cancelled to the point no one goes to his club anymore, which would end up hurting the people who rely on it.

It’s actually hilarious watching all of this unfold. The whole point of podcasts was/is to have a more informal approach and conversation than you would see on some mainstream corporate TV, so the guests can be more relaxed and we can actually get to know them a little bit and hear some actual opinions and conversations that aren’t preapproved by their agents/PR consultants. But the Rogan’s podcast is so popular that he has basically become new mainstream and guys like this are afraid of saying something wrong there as they would be on any national TV network. It’s a shame because Rogan is so big he could simply straight up refuse to have guests like this where they’re dancing around everything for hours pretending nothing ever happened and no one ever said anything even remotely interesting/controversial, but maybe Rogan wanted us to see how lame and fake these big celebrities are and how they’re unable to publicly share their opinion about basically anything. But, honestly, I’d rather live a thousand years working average job having average life than have millions being some corporate PR politically correct talking box walking on eggshells scared shitless all the time like the rock, it is so pathetic

I didn’t expect Joe to call him out on anything but I did expect Joe to ask him questions and dig a little into the rocks life which didn’t happen at all. There were times when the rock would ask Joe a question and then (after Joe’s answer) he would give his own answer. He was interviewing himself. I know Joe doesn’t like “interviewing” and just wants a conversation, but Joe good conversationalists ask questions, they don’t just talk about themselves. Joe should know his audience has heard his thoughts on all of this a million times. You have a big guest on, don’t let that guest make the interview about you. Just a bad podcast.

People somehow expect celebrities to follow some sort of moral code depicted by someone and get pissed when they don't.
