Joe Satrianni is the man, period

The man is just impossibly God level... pretty soon he'll have the guitar talk !! Seen him several times and he just keeps uping his game all the time... legend seems just too infinitely simplistic for him.

He will always be one of the greats. Or as I like to put it "Always with me, always with you." ☺

The arpeggio figure was first used in Power Cosmic
@scowlistic7 ай бұрын
nah, that came out way after this.

@@scowlistic Nopers. Power Cosmic was written earlier and eventually released as a sound disc in GP 1987. FiaBD came out 1989. It is the exact same arpeggio figure but only played in 2-3 forms.

@@-RandomBiz- I remember a friend bringing that over to my house, it blew us all away, I can't remember exactly but I think they also published the guitar tab for it. Quite the finger stretcher, I love how the end of it faded right into "The Crush of Love" on the sound disc.

I learned those arpeggios decades ago doing it with alternate picking and later sweep picking.

This is a tricky thing to play. He’s mint Satch. Picking isn’t really his strong point but his legato playing it’s epic

Yeah but how did you learn to put your entire hand over the all of the fret bars in other words barring the neck while playing.. Amazing!! Must be an Alvin Lee thing.
@Saldivinorum7 ай бұрын
Michael Angelo Betio has a patent on string muters that buckle to the neck. Not sure when he created them but I saw a clinic of his at my local music store in the 90's. Which tells me this isn't a new concept whatsoever. It's been a legato technique since before EVH popularized it along with tapping.

Which fret is getting barred? Or none? Is Satch just muting?
