Joe all due respect here (love your shows). Les Stroud went into the series about as objectively as one could with the whole phenomena of Bigfoot. My perception is that Les entered into a "partnership" (if you will), with Todd Standing in the Survivorman Bigfoot series but remained at arm's length from Todd all the while series was documented. He held Todd accountable when he felt is was necessary and questioned him often. Long story short I found Les' series on the subject very credible and well done - not corny or "hoaxy" in the least. I find Les Stroud to be a tough SOB and the real deal. I'll watch the whole series repeatedly.

The men who recorded this had heard these sounds many times before, which is the reason they brought audio recording equipment with them. No deer hunter takes recording equipment with them on a mountain hunt. They were familiar with these sounds and creatures. Also, their structure was damn near a log cabin that used heavy timbers, and they all had deer rifles. This is why they were not panicked.

A recoding featured in this podcast was taped in the 70’s by a man camping with his friends deep into a trail. It was really dark, the only light around them was the fire. They heard two different “things” running towards their campsite from different directions. So they ran into their little “fort” they built and stayed quiet because they were scared from what they were hearing. They actually went through the same thing another night, but decided to go back out to that same campsite to get a recording. Both times they stayed in their little “fort” til the sun came up then dipped out... The man who convinced his friend to go back with him to get a recording continued going back there for a long time, because he wanted to try and figure out what was making that sound. He didn’t say it was a “Sasquatch”. He didn’t know what it was. That’s why he was so invested into trying to find out what was around that area. The story is featured in a Missing411 book by David Paulides, whom is the man who dedicated his life to bring awareness to the number of missing cases.

A few things on this coming from not an expert, but a life-long Bigfoot lover. These recordings were never officially called the Samurai Sounds/Chatter, their proper name is believed to be the Sierra Sounds due to them being recorded in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. What's on the recordings wasn't the first time the guys heard them, the first time they heard them apparently the guys were so scared that it made some of them cry, and these are experienced seasoned hikers and hunters. The camp site was a very complex site constructed miles and miles away from any roads or towns and the route to get to it is one of the toughest trails to traverse, only for experienced outdoorsmen. Also there are multiple recordings/tapes, anywhere from 4 to 8, I'm not sure how many there are exactly and they of course aren't going to be the best quality given they were made in the mid 1970's.

David just gives you the facts... and if he's calling him the person in the Bigfoot community that has no credibility and nobody likes him if this is what Joe saying if he's referring to David its because a lot of the people in the Bigfoot Community are or ignorant or not real investigators and are very close-minded not all but some.

Story time: Where I live, there isn’t any Jaguars or Leopards at all. There isn’t any and never has been. There’s nothing even close to them. Well for the past 20-30 years, I kept hearing stories of a big black cat being seen by family members. So one day last month I drove my mother home, and guess what was laying by the house? A big black cat! It was much smaller than I imagined it was though. About the size of a big dog. Maybe 60-80lbs but it was very long. Anyways it walks off into the woods, and the whole experience blew my mind. The myth was real! Couldn’t believe it, and now I’m paranoid that there’s a big ass cat wandering around here.

A few summers ago my buddy and I heard a single loud "whoop" at night in the woods of Central Minnesota. We knew right away that it was nothing we'd ever heard. After looking for logical reasons I stumbled upon the Sierra camp recordings, and it was exact match. I've spent my whole life in nature, but this one moment is the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me. @@davidescareno6253 it was between 11 and 12 p.m. in Late July. My buddy and I had just finished fishing on our dock. After we had packed up our stuff and started to head in we heard what can be described as a "whoop" ahead of us and to the left at about 75+ yards. I can vividly remember my friend and I looking over at each other to confirm we heard what we thought we just heard, and were not going crazy. It sounded as if it was facing out towards the lake, and in our direction. Weird thing is we did not hear any sounds before or after the whoop to indicate an animal, or even person in the area. Unfortunately our flashlights were not powerful enough to illuminate the area of the woods the sound was coming from. Instead, our flashlights just lit up the trees within a 15 foot radius. If you look up Sasquatch Sierra Sounds by Ron Morehead and Al Berry at the 21 second mark you can hear exactly what we heard.

Oh they are real Joe, and me and my Forrest Ranger partner saw one in the largest forested area in the lower 48. Scared us so much that we stayed together when we were supposed to separate with radios to get to all the mountain lakes we were supposed to get to .We were doing a 10 day naturalizing( picking up trash and erasing any sign of humans to preserve the wilderness experience for people who went hiking into the wilderness) the wilderness hike. We weren't able to get to all the lakes and trails we were supposed to because we stayed together because of what we saw. Big totally hairy man like 7 ft tall. Anyway, our work was checked out b our supervisors ad they asked us after the next 10 day naturalizing the wilderness hike, why we didn't get to all the lakes and trail we were supposed to. They noticed that there were lots of signs of humans like trash and campfire rings etc. I said, you want the truth? They said yes. We told them that what we saw, and that that we styed together and weren't able to get to all the places we were supposed to go if we had split apart. These supervisors were t women that had gone to the same school we had, and they looked at each other and laughed. One of them then said that if we told anyone what they were about to tell us, they would deny it. Anyway that woman said that they had done the same thing we did in the same area 2 years earlier. She said that they both had seem them too when they did a naturalizing hike. The she said as a matter of fact, just two weeks prior to our coming out to this area, a woman that has taken a job on a fire lookout for the summer, had reported on her two way radio a blow by blow description of a family ( six)of sasquatch climbing up a cliff and going into a cave. She got a very good look at them with her telescope and binoculars. She asked immediately for someone to come out to the fire lookout and get her out of there. They did and she was immediately let go. Our two women supervisors then told us that the forest service knows they exist, but if we wanted a paying job (We were volunteers at the time)with the forest service to not ever speak say that you saw one. That's true story Joe. This thing walked about 50 feet in front of us, across an old logging trail we were on. My ranger partner and I stopped in our tracks when we saw it and I said to him, "Did you see that? He said he did. I looked for tracks the next morning but the ground was hard and dry. This was no man in a Hairy suit, it was the real deal.

Yeah, Joe butchered the story about it. Also, the guys that recorded the sounds never released the recordings until decades later. It also wasn't their first encounter with whatever was making those noises, it was the first encounter where they decided to record the sounds. The area is heavily remote and very few outside of the people that went there know about it. It's so remote that the guys who went there to hunt Dear never had one day where they did not kill a Deer - meaning the Deer that live there don't see people very often and are out an about. The vocal noises aside, the real strange thing about it is the sounds of the wood being bashed against trees. You can hear the impact of those blows despite being far away from the men. Whatever was hitting the trees was freakishly strong.

Joe should really have David Paulides, who writes a series of books called missing 411, and himself did extensive research on Bigfoot/Sasquatch. Paulides had Ron Morehead on his video missing 411 hunters. Ron and the other hunters where 8 Miles into the Sierra Nevada mountains hunting deer. The camp was there starting in the 1950's. Then around 1971 or 72 the hunter's started having these experiences with what they believe is bigfoot as they have pictures of something with a big foot. Ron caught a fast glimpse of one moving very fast through the woods. So, around 1972 they started bringing tape recorders up to tape what they where hearing at night, while barricade in this makeshift log shelter... And then the following year bought a reporter up, who was skeptical about the whole thing, and found nothing to suggest it was a fraud or faked. They then had a guy, retired from the Navy as a crypto linguist who was trained by the Navy and responsible for identifying foreign communications and language. He said that what they taped couldn't have been faked, not with the technology of recorders they had, especially in 1972, and that whatever was making the sounds was to high or low for any humanoid to produce. And then there is Melba Ketchum, who studied and tested Bigfoot DNA, Dr. Ketchum found that Bigfoot is a distinct 15,000-year-old species that is a cross between modern Homo sapiens and unknown primates. Interesting stuff. Dave and Ron are credible guys, and I find it fascinating myself, but yet, I'd still need to see it or be out there myself to truly believe that they exist.

The most convincing evidence I've seen was on Mr ballen where the hunters actually have an audio recording of an encounter and it actually sounds like a group of something speaking to each other as they surround the hunters it's pretty crazy and they also analyzed the sounds and they are at a sound level humans can not produce and the recording happened back in the day before they could of really faked it

While I think those "animal" sounds are suspect, Joe clearly biased and not telling you the entire story correct. Those guys were terrified but also were all armed with high powered rifles. They made a make shift camp site in a giant tree that took about a half days hike to get to in the thick of the forest. They were whispering and were trying to look out of the slots in the camp site they made to see where the sounds were coming from. You can clearly hear them whispering so not to make a lot of noise. Joes making it seem like they were just standing there watching these creatures, completely calm and that's not the case. I encourage you to listen to the entire audio and I hate to say it, Joe already went into this with a closed mind and his bias portrayed the set up different than how it actually was. It's a good story. While I don't necessarily believe it, it's a little more plausible than what Joe is giving it credit for.

@@Aaron_Scissorhands it's more plausible listening to the entire audio and knowing the entire story. It's like the media only giving you a few facts about a story when they obviously want to frame it in a certain way. I would have to do more research into the Bigfoot sounds to completely believe it but the whole thing sounds pretty legit. My bias is based on that we've never found any remains of Bigfoot or don't have more videos available than the one 1967 one that's most famous. This audio has been studied (supposedly) by experts that said these sounds couldn't be recreated by human vocal cords. Not sure if that's true but that's the story. The fact Joe didn't tell the story fully or really give context of what was happening is puzzling to me. He's normally pretty through which makes me believe he has a strong bias on it to begin with.

Joe had a video comparison between a man who claimed he was the one wearing the costume in the most famous bigfoot film, and him walking along on a sidewalk. There was definitely a similarity in the gait. What wasn’t similar were the surfaces. How could a man in a bulky ape costume move with the same ease across rough forest floor as on a concrete sidewalk? The film shows an animal effortlessly gliding across a rough forest, at a fast rate. It looked as smooth as the so-called faker walked across a sidewalk, yet in the film, the animal is covering way more ground. That was the first time I saw Joe’s reasoning fall apart on me. He saw the gait looked similar, and case closed as a fake.

Toe is such an a hole debunker...."The human body is not capable of making these sounds" LMAO....No the sounds are at such high and low pitches, decibels and imitating several different animal sounds as well as human and ape like talking and chatter that it is pretty much ruled impossible that men are hiding doing such a wide array of sounds, octaves, pitches, ECT.....Oh and the main thing is the lung capacity needed to generate some of the howls and growls for very long, loud sustainable sounds that travel for miles yes, is said by human anatomy and biology scientists to be not human. Those yells when close up have paralyzed witnesses to the point of frozen in fear, can't run, think, raise a gun, probably shat their pants....and reported that it reverberates through your chest and whole body just seize...Yeah sure Toe, imagine humans being able to do that to each other.....

The particular chatter that these creatures were making could not be replicated. Idc how good the impressionist is.

What the fuck are you talking about. 2 guys working together could easily make those noises. And did. You just heard it lol.

I’ve like Nate’s comedy for YEARS! And I always said he’ll be on his way once he goes on Rogan. I’m very excited for him and his family!

Thoroughly enjoyed Nate’s new special last night! He used one or two jokes from earlier specials of his that you will only realize if you’ve been a fan of his since he was very small, but other than that it was all new material. It was also absolutely hilarious, Nate’s sense of humor is the kind that pretty much anyone can resonate with and it’s honestly one of those specials that leaves you with such a great feeling when it ends. Definitely watch all of this stuff if you haven’t! Also, someone needs to make a “funniest moments” from his podcast.

I'd just like to thank Spotify for freeing up so much of my time. Clips are much better than listening to hours of podcast per day. Spotify has cured my JRE habit. Thanks Spotify.

Sucha pity that Lloyd Pye never got on JRE. This would have been a very interesting conversation about both Bigfoot and aliens. Rest in peace, Lloyd Pye.
