As always, another great video Joe!! I just wanted to say, as a safety thing...use caution vacuuming up the ash and coals from the stove. I am a firefighter and have been to a few fires over the years where folks have sucked up a hot coal and it burnt the vacuum up and unfortunately one time their house. I along with all your followers and yourself would be devastated if anything happens to the tent!! This is by far my favorite channel on KZbin or TV!! Take care.

Whitetail deer are known to feed 5 times a day so certain days they will literally be FORCED to move. I like your thinking of "I can't shoot them at home" because you are 100% right. If you get a string of cold days let's say 1-2 days of low teens and then it shoots up to mid 30's I would try for an all day sit because the deer(especially bucks) will be on there feet looking for food and the next hot doe! I love your videos they hit home because I live right here in Minnesota too. Keep up the great videos! -Treyton C

As a new video suggestion - take us through, please, how you hunt a stand in 10 to -10 degree weather - layered clothing, heater options, hand and head protection, boot options, protection from wind chill. Here in Michigan, we understand hunting on 20 to 30 degree mornings, but your temperatures entail a whole different level of preparation and logistics. Thank you.

Joe, Pay attention to what the deer is showing you, they will stay in cover when it is real cold or wind is blowing fairly hard, as the temps are a lot warmer due to no wind chill factor. When you seen the tracks walking in to get the camera, there were tracks everywhere, but as soon as you got to the clearing and also where your stand is located, no tracks! My suggestion is to have a climbing stand in the truck and with conditions as they are, use that stand to put in a tree close to where you see a lot of tracks. Deer will avoid areas that are void of cover when it's windy or really cold. I have been hunting deer for 60 years and have figured out to not hunt when weather is bad. Many times I have cursed the state game commission over when the dates they set for modern gun season, here in Kentucky it is always the second Saturday of November, and many times it is so warm that if you were lucky enough to harvest a deer, it would spoil before you could get it out of the field. Their excuse is that is when the Rut is happening, as a farm owner and I see deer every day, and I say it is PRE RUT and the time for the various bucks to establish their pecking order. I can give the game commission a good argument that the most actual rutting does not begin until around the third or fourth week in December. A deer's gestation period is approx. 4 months, so if the rut was as they say the beginning of Nov, that would make the birth to occur the beginning of March, still way too cold for fawns that new to survive while the mother is away feeding so that she can produce milk. It really doesn't warm up in this area until the last of April.

Great video work.. Oh my gawd, -10 , doesn't seem a hunter could withstand temps like that, i'm not so sure i could unless i had one of the new electric heater hunting suits.. battery powered .. I gotta hand it to you , you are out there working at getting a deer.. You fix up some meals that look really tasty .. Johnny's Seasoning salt i ordered came, Hunters Blend, pretty good , it's funny none of the fellows i hunt with have even heard about it ... I hope you score..

Joe I was wondering if you put new propane bottles on your lanterns when they run out or do you refill them. I just recently discovered a adapter from a large propane tank to the small ones and refill them yourself. I believe it will save me a few dollars in the long run.

Takes Hr to warm a camp in winter ! Not only do you have to warm camp you have to warm every thing in it.I take a propane salamander with me when it's real cold open all the doors for 20 min first .that warms it up 5deg than stoke wood stove two construction heaters mounted to ceiling and light salamander and leave it run for a hr.door open a crack.that gives it a good start to warming up
